The good rednecks of SC and others like them - and by the way, if you are a Southerner who dislikes the Civil Rights Act, you are a redneck period - are, and have always been, amongst the lowest and most detestable of America. They are also a regional variation who has always felt this way. No one should be surprised that racism in the South never really died.

What is concerning to me is the Fox poll.

There are some 13,000 votes cast from not only Fox viewers, but those dedicated enough to read the Fox blogs. It is pretty clear that by even asking the question, Fox is gearing up to try to make questioning the Civil Rights Act respectable.

What I want to know is how many Americans nationwide are thinking this way.

Do we have any reliable numbers that might give a better nationwide view?
