That would be the living room. the room beyond is the sunroom with the three floor to ceiling windows, and there is a fireplace on the other side. I think that the sunroom was the original patio, and it was enclosed, since the hallway is exposed brick on the back of the garage.

The other link, the house has wainscotting all around and has a combo country house, 50s post war feel. That is because it was actually built that way. The back was the original, and the kitchen, livingroom was added on in the late 40s, early 50s. That is the house I really want, and I can’t explain it other than it feels like my great grandmother’s house. And it is nothing like her house, it is just a feeling. The only way I could explain it to my mother is that the reason she had my father buy the mountain property they built on, was that it reminded her of the house that the same great grandmother had in a different town, when my mother was growing up. The same woman evokes a feeling of home in both my mother and myself, but from two different houses we knew from the same stages in our lives.
