An opposing viewpoint from those who were there:
My daughter and her friends were there the day before the big day. They were just a bit horrified with the hateful signs and displays everywhere-bashing Pres Bush, bashing Cheney, bashing our military men and women. Perhaps they saw a different side as they are conservatives, but it wasn’t happy happy joy from their PVO and they brought back the pics to prove it.

My daughter was with a group of future progressives of America…high school class. She was the odd man out. She was insulted about the treatment given to Pres. Bush. She also said the place was a pigsty. Rush referred to it as Hurricane Latrena…

I am not sure that inauguration day is a high crime day for any President. Seems too many police around. And if it was safe this time, it was because Pres. Bush declared it a disaster area so they could have additional security.
