I’ve been told by many that I’m the only person they know who uses semicolons in text messages.

I had an English teacher in high school who was my hero. She set the bar high and expected us to meet it. She taught us how to use a semi-colon; this is a very useful piece of knowledge. Because of her, I was able to crank out papers at 2:30 am (in college) and get an A.

She got through to at least some of us.
