If Jared’s lawyers go before a judge and try to argue that he was too dumb to know that requesting a special hotline to the Kremlin through Russian diplomatic channels was illegal, the judge is likely to throw the lawyer in a cell next to his client’s.

Alan Dershowitz was on TV earlier saying even if everything in that report is true there is still no criminal conduct there, there is no statute you can point to and say they violated this. Someone brought up the Logan Act and he basically said a law that hasn’t been enforced in over a 100 years can not be enforced due to desuetude. IANAL, I have no idea myself.
