The UK snap election is getting interesting. Labour is now about only six points behind the Tories. The election is Thursday, June 8.
I don’t think Labour is going to win, but six points is striking distance and a remarkable reversal of fortune for the Conservative Party. This election was supposed to be PM May’s coronation; the Tories had forecast a 200-seat majority - they’ve pared that down to 80.
If, on the slim chance that Labour pulls off a victory, that would qualify as one of the most stunning come-from-behind political victories I’ve ever seen. Like I said, I don’t think it’ll happen, but hell, nowadays, I’ve concluded nothing is impossible.
