I guess I don’t understand the hatred towards people who work their way up in politics. I honestly want my leaders to be able to understand policy because frankly most policy I don’t understand beyond a basic. And I certainly don’t want my leaders treating Washington as this hellhole. Washington is our capital. It’s not “The Swamp.” It’s home to thousands of unknown bureaucrats, many of whom btw are vets who work day to day to make the coutnry a better place. Does D.C. have its flaws? Sure but I’m not going to get an architect to do heart surgery on me because he’s not a perfect individual.

It goes back to Ronald Reagan’s anti-government statements such as the worst words in the English language are I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.
