It’s not even that. The ‘anti-abortion’ nonsense is nothing about abortion. It’s a little about controlling women, but mostly it’s about hate and the maintenance of social dominance. That article someone posted on how the evangelical cult changed to being zealously anti-abortion over a few years, and retroactively pretended that they had been forever, was eye-opening. Evangelicalism, like many parts of American culture, is nothing more than a veneer for maintaining power imbalances.
