at that rate, anybody who owns a house in california and has paid off their mortgage, and has a 401k, is a millionaire

personally i think his real estate is losing money and he’s cash poor and living on loans

it certainly wouldn’t be the first time a “multi millionaire” was in a situation like that

I think it’s trying to estimate his net worth (assets minus liabilities), except I’m damn sure he’s got a lot of unreported liabilities to some very unforgiving people who don’t exactly send you quarterly statements in the mail.
