Actually, to say it’s about “Heritage” is accurate.

One must then ask what specific aspects of culture combine to form a “Heritage” and in the Southern USA the reliance on treating black/brown-skinned human beings like farm animals and worse is celebrated. At the same time, the supremacist “Southern White Man” ideal is taken as fact with a proud tradition of demeaning virtually every other culture in the entire world.

That is specifically the Heritage they celebrate.
