538’s average has 43.7% supporting the recall while 52.1% oppose. Support for the recall has been dropping precipitously over the past three weeks as Newsome has tied Larry Elder - the leading candidate to replace Newsom should the recall succeed - to Trump.

I wish the Democrats would do this nationwide and aggressively because they would be getting a lot more support than they are now for next year’s midterms. Alas, they continue bringing a spork to every knife fight…

In any case, I hope Newsom campaigns like he’s ten points behind, firing up voters to turn out to avoid any complacency.
