I called the CA State Board of Equalization and was on hold for 40 minutes. The most annoying thing was twice a minute there was some sort of spoken recording, making it impossible for me to be on hold and concentrate on other things.

(Because I’m one of the .001% of people that actually pays the “Use Tax” on out of state purchases, CA decided to go fishing and send be a bill to pay it for prior years. The corporation for which I paid this tax was incorporated in 2010, so they sent me a bill for 2008 and 2009—before it even existed. No good deed goes unpunished. If I hadn’t paid it in 2010, they wouldn’t have tried collecting it for prior years…)
