All Cabinets and every administration has infighting that’s halfway between a middle-school recess and the doctrines of Signor Machiavelli, but this administration seems to be dividing itself up between the people who know what the fck they’re doing and the people who don’t, and the latter group seems both to be winning—and to include the president-elect.

Manchin’s attempts to distance himself from other Democrats led him Wednesday to meet individually with Vice President-elect Mike Pence to discuss how to repeal and replace ObamaCare, instead of meeting with Obama and other Democrats to strategize how to preserve the law.

… and this is why I draw the line at Manchin when we talk about bringing in more blue dog Democrats. Profile in courage indeed.
