Actually they started to pack the school boards right after Roe v. Wade. I remember how the Catholic churches back home went insane the Sunday after that decision was released. In our 1973 School Board election back home, several Catholic priests and a Southern Baptist preacher ran for school board seats to put Jay-Zuss back in the school and one of the priests got elected. He just went out of his way to disrupt the school board meetings with his insane rants…

I recall our priest calling for the excommunication of a Roman Catholic SCOTUS judge who voted in favor of Roe v Wade

And the Protestant Fundamentalists did not really jump on the anti-abortion bandwagon right away.

They certainly though that they had found a candidate who would put God back into America’s schools, laws and public spaces with Ronald Reagan, and were bitterly disappointed.

But ow their long game is about to come to fruition: Trump impeached for High Crimes and Misdemeanors and Pence/Ryan running the country with a GOP majority.
