Lots of politicians getting deservedly called out for racist words and deeds lately. That’s a good thing. But in many cases, they’ve been saying or doing these things for a LONG time, in public, and suddenly they’re facing consequences. I have to wonder if on some level, we’re seeing some sort of mass sublimation effect — focusing on these racist politicians to avoid facing the biggest, most dangerous racism problem in the US, staring us right in the face: Donald Trump.
this is one of the biggest disconnects:
R’s doing it now, today. in fact running on it as a ‘platform’ almost (king, trump)
vs digging up tasteless things D’s did quite a long time ago and don’t do any more (as far as we know).
senseless, insensitive for sure.
