I know farmers who are not Trumpers. But the problem is that there are probably more Trumper farmers in the BigAg states than non-Trumper farmers.

What many coastal elite seem unaware - that the organization Farm Bureau is one of the most important lobbyists in DC and even more importantly in several medium to small population states. The organization has supported Republicans in recent years as rural America has become the America of Resentment.

Trump’s loyalty is more to big agriculture, the farmers are just held up as some sort of idealized front-line soldiers in the trade war, and all too many are eager to assume that role, along with their coal mining brothers in WVA and PA
