This is unrelated, but I’m still not understanding why mail-in voting has recently become some kind of liberal cause. I’m seeing people talking it up all over the internet.

Remember, in Ohio, black voters were more likely to deliver their absentee vote in person rather than through the mail, as the Republican Secretary of State was trying to mandate. There’s a reason for that.

It’s become popular because it works. Here in Washington and Oregon we’ve all been doing it for years now. You get your ballot at home to fill out at your leisure, with no standing in line for hours. If you don’t trust the mail to get it back, there are places offered to, yes, drop it off in person. Can it be subverted? Yes, but so can any process involving humans, as Ohio has shown this year.
