Yes, I know. That $25 was wages for an entire week for one of those workers which I paid for a pair of shoes.

I was just making a comparison of what the MSRP was compared to what I paid. I never pay full price for products and will wait for a sale if I have to. : )

ETA: And how many pairs of shoes did that particular person work on? Probably hundreds, even thousands, if my memory of production work is any indicator. I once had to wrap and solder 10 capacitors/transistors on a TV tuner in a minute and I made $3.25/hr, so I know how that goes (that was 40 yrs ago). At least it was a union shop and the steward would stop the line any time someone thought the super had sped it up. The plant closed down while I was there after about 6 mos and moved out of the country, so industry moving out of the US is nothing new—but the accumulation of these moves over the years has been devastating for many people here in the US.
