re: #91 Hecuba’s daughter
Steve Jobs lived with the disease for 8 years. The story I always heard (am not sure if it’s been confirmed) was during his illness he spent some time on alternative medicine instead of conventional treatments and this may have led to his death.
He had a very rare type of cancer, and had (among other things) a liver transplant as treatment. After that, with no immune system (immunosuppressants for the rest of his life), any cancer or any recurrence would kill you.
(I’ve heard the stories too, but a liver transplant doesn’t sound very alternative to me.)
