It’s still powerful enough in the rural locales we need to win if we want to avoid the nightmare scenario of Trump squeaking by a second time on an EC victory. 2016 proved that running up the score on the popular vote means squat if the other guy can win states by less than 1% of the total vote.

We aren’t going to win the rural vote; we need to turn out the urban vote. I hope the nominee picks Stacey Abrahms or another person of color for VP.
