Depends on traffic, doesn’t it? A lot of people in the last 60 days have decided that driving to a drive-up window to order a double 1/4 pound toadburger with cheese might not be their best move. But you, as a franchiser, have no support from Corp Mickey D’s in laying off costs on PPE for your staff. And it’s not cheap. 95 masks are retailing at $7 and are good for one shift, at most. Nitrile gloves, are costly and each employee will go through at least 16 in an eight hour shift. They don’t breathe. That’s the point. They also tear up your hands.

You could go with latex, but 2-3% of people are allergic to it and drop in anaphylactic
shock soon after contact.

So you are kinda screwed. You can’t afford to PPE up you staff, and you can’t afford to shut the store.

I don’t think most retail workers are expecting n95 masks and nitrile gloves. You can get surgical style masks for about 50 cents a mask, less if you buy in bulk and those disposable food service gloves they should already be using if they are handling food, are cheap and don’t imagine it would cost much to give them to the folks working the registers and cleaning the store.
