Hitler could not afford to lose. The Confederacy could not afford to lose. AL Capone could not afford to lose. Yes, they all had lots of tools to help them, and they lost.

Hitler was in power for 12 years and did a lot of damage before he went down. Likewise the Confederacy for four years and Al Capone probably did more damage than he ever repaid by being imprisoned.
