Particularly in the many years that Republicans controlled Congress.

I wonder where all of the rich Democrats are that could have sued to stop the tax law from happening, you know, like how Republicans have these rich people whose sole job is to sue over emissions and abortion and the right to force my students to pray.

We are always working from a hole: We need government to work; the current system favors smaller states, which skew conservative, which means that even though more Democrats voting we don’t have as many people in office as we should; the right is united in their racism while too many on the left can’t unite against that racism; and the Right gets rewarded by its own for breaking the rules (see the recent decision in Wisconsin) while the left gets punished by its own (see the recent ruling in New York over gerrymandering).

And I don’t know what to do other than getting more people to the polls, and that’s why I get truly, truly annoyed at anything that looks defeatist.
