I am willing to give these guys the benefit of the doubt when they come claiming benefits for injuries: after all, they did volunteer to serve.

And a lot more of them are surviving than did before due to better battlefield medical care and modern surgery. I am sure that it is cheaper for the Armed Forces to just pay off a life insurance settlement and be shut of it than to have to care for disabled vets for the rest of their lives…
