WE had an active shooter drill at the school where I was subbing today in NC. I doubt that it is not a coincidence that it happened one day after a school shooting a few hours south of us in SC.

I cannot tell you how depressing this sort of thing is. Getting the kids to hide in the far corner while we lock the doors, shutter the windows and turn the lights off.

I remember having air raid drills in elementary school in Yucaipa since we were in the air burst radius of a Russian nuke targeting Norton AFB in San Bernardino (duck and cover!).

Thank God we never had to try that one out for real.

However, the one we practice for now happens every month.

The NRA is thrilled with this. Scare the crap outa them as children so they’ll be easily convinced to buy and hoard guns.
