re: #10 whitebeach

Going OT early but not to start some kind of thread. I just want to thank the lizards, I remember Decatur Deb and maybe BeachDem but there were others, who encouraged me to get the cataract surgery when I was turning a little shaky about it.

It’s all over now and I can freakin SEE again. Can read anything down to ten-point type without glasses, and nine-point in good light. Plus I spend lots of time doing things like picking out individual leaves and blades of grass eighty feet away when what I was seeing before was this green cloud. Impressionist landscapes are lovely in frames on the wall or in dreams, but they’re not so hot every waking hour.

Anyway, thanks to all.

Funny you should post this today. I had my surgery 2 (?) years ago, and it was amazing. Going from “can’t find my glasses without my glasses” to incredible ability to see with no correction.

The reason today makes it funny is that I had some clouding/film (can’t remember the specific term) post-surgery. Some in each eye, and then again this summer in my right eye. Fixed beautifully with laser procedure (quick and easy, in the office) and just had it done again on my right eye this morning, so back to clear, great vision again.

So, if your vision ever gets a little cloudy, don’t panic—it is easily corrected.

Glad you went ahead and did it.
