Shortest wedding I’ve ever been to: My cousin’s fall wedding in October one year. The day before, everything was picturesque and beautiful. The morning of dawns… 20 degrees. All the leaves have fallen, the flowers are closed up. The bridesmaids refused to get out of the limo in their beautiful strapless dresses. My mom, saint that she is, threw an impromptu back-up reception at her house because the bride and groom had no backup plan for what was intended to be an outdoor-only event. Yeah, that marriage didn’t last long.
