I’m not going to let the peers of Timothy McVeigh make policy. If Biden were to moot (put forward) a Court candidate that evinced that much rage, enough rage to make someone do an OKC, the correct answer is NOT, “Let’s come to terms with this obvious terrorist.”

No.

I’m not particularly concerned for or against HRC as a Supreme Court justice, and there are good arguments against appointing her. But fear of violence and terrorism is not one of them. Or at least, it should not be. I think Democrats are dead scared to even mention right-wing violence. This will not make the violence go away. It’ll spill over into everything. It’ll be The Troubles, even if the Democrats win the presidency (If not, then downtown Sarajevo might be more peaceful!)

she’s 72. Democrats aren’t going to nominate someone who may well be dead or retired in 10 years, with their first swing of the supreme court bat.
