So I got a little manly today and decided to clean the garage a bit…the old workbench that had to be moved out to make way for the solar components needed to go, and my next door neighbor had offered me his old Sears Craftsman bench on wheels as he upgraded his own (he’s been the neighbor of requirement - gave me a full set of 20V DeWalt drills and Sawzall, as well as a couple more electric goodies as he upgraded.

Anyhoo, I broke down the workbench, dragged it all outside, found a local guy to haul it away - he wanted 200 bucks…I took a thirty minute ride on the peloton…he reoffered 150 and I accepted. Then as he was loading his truck he said “This is really a $200 load…how about 160?” - I agreed, then when he was done loading his truck I said, “Let’s call it 190.” - I figured if he was working me for $10 then an extra 30 probably would be welcome.

Besides, he had one of those shitty short beds they put on trucks these days…almost makes them worthless. 8’ beds should be required by law.

damn. for me, that’s 20 bucks to the local homeless guy who is basically working for booze. For 190, I’d need someone to come back with a cord of cut firewood in back from old hardwoods after they’d taken the load to the dump.
