Well, that’s a wrong person to hold up as a hero, especially when there’s so many people who fought for liberty in the Civil War without making it murder and terrorism.

However, without in any way excusing Turner’s murders, I will say it’s a lot easier for me to understand a slave rebelling and killing those in the society that enslaved him, than it is for me to understand the mind of a man who’d make someone a slave.
