Well, Pa don’t sound so paranoid here lately. Frankly, I never thought I’d live to see the day when open hatred of Jews in general and zionists in particular would become not only socially acceptable, but even chic, and, in some otherwise respectable circles, almost the price of admission. And this here in the states.

Some weeks back, I saw a guy, right here in a residential area in Austin, walking around with a “death to zionism” t-shirt. Guy was definitely your average white guy - no hint of the levant or South Asia on his face - and it just floored me. Here, in America, in my town, I’ve got some idiot walking around like that.

I am totally the opposite; my dad was a first gen American…from the Ukraine…the stories I heard growing up were beyond horrible…and I was raised to believe that no matter how well I assimulated, I would ALWAYS be a Jew first, even here.

My department had the full deranged asshole super sized kit- posters, pictures, tons of literature…1933 all over again!
