The Islamic world had more liberal, tolerant periods than the Christian one did, especially to Jews.

That’s ridiculously ambiguous, what’s the Christian world? Is the USA part of this so called ‘Christian world’? What’s your definition of tolerance? I can assure you that the Islamic definition of tolerance would not be recognizable as such by Western standards.
