re: #80 lawhawk
I can’t envision seeing a President becoming a Supreme Court justice (Taft). Or running, winning, then losing, and winning again, like Grover Cleveland.
The Supreme Court justice would be the most impracticable, I think. There’d have to be a long time between presidency and seat at the bar to avoid potential conflicts and recusals. And by that point, the nominee would probably be too old.
Then again, there were rumors Huntsman was considering a run in California for either governor or the Senate. But that’s mostly fizzled out. It’s also been an incredibly long time since someone held office in two different states, I would think.
