Here in San Diego county, the number of registered voters declared as Democrat is slowing going up.

Republicans slowly going down.

However, the number of non-declared is rising sharply.

The shocker to me, having just looked at the latest report, is that the number registered as American Independent has climbed considerably.

For those who don’t know, the AI is California’s version of George Wallace’s party. Pat Buchanan supporters, etc.

Indeed, the AI is growing faster than “Libertarian”.

What this tells me is that the racists are coming more out of the closet, not willing to hide in the Republican party as much.

What it means to me is that people see “Independent” in the name and check that box, having no idea what it means.
