I spent 1-2 nights most weekends, every summer I was in college, in bars. I never witnessed, nor did I take part in a bar fight. I guess I just don’t know many belligerent drunks.

I bartended at a punk club in Downtown Houston to pay for college. It was the place where frat boys and rich assholes went to observe what they thought were deviants in their natural habitat.

Fights were ALWAYS started by some frat boy or rich asshole pushing one of the regulars. Every…fucking…time. And instead of breaking them up we’d let the regular give the guy a couple of good punches and kicks with their Docs before we’d save them. No need to rush.

Every single night, I watched this happen.
