Oh, and last night Trump installed Scott Garrett as head of the ExIm Bank, an organization Garrett repeatedly tried to shut down.

This one’s personal. Garrett was my Congressman after the last census and redrawing of Congressional districts. He lost to Democrat Josh Gottheimer. So, he’s failed upwards into a position where he can fuck around with multinational companies that rely on the bank to help create opportunities for economic growth and jobs here in the US.

He’s completely unqualified for the position, which when combined with his intent to destroy the bank, shows that Trump’s ultimate goals are sabotaging functioning government, not governing.

He’d rather play golf all the time and watch government fall apart.

And the GOP is cheering him all the way to hell.

Well, even the silver linings under the Trump Administration are likely to be composed mainly of tarnish, but at least The Yam’s nomination - even of a GOPer hack - to the Ex-Im Bank Board shows they’re not going to kill the thing entirely. (?? non-renewal of its charter or something??). For some reason I’ve never been able to quite unravel, getting rid of the Ex-Im Bank has been a Republican fetish in recent years. I read somewhere (here, probably) that the Admin has (surprise!) changed its mind: so there’s one small positive to report…
