Reading the stories of others who have escaped indoctrination by their various churches and those positions (gays are evil, &c) makes me glad I was never subjected to that which has no evidence.

It also informs me of just how hard it is to escape lifetime indoctrination and immersion by an entire culture that pushes the same. I didn’t have to worry about being thrown out of my home and cut off from my family if I announced I didn’t believe in something asserted without evidence (though all my Methodist cousins but one did).

As I posted before the Religious Right infected all of my family and turned them into monsters that I cannot handle. The only way to cope with it was to get the hell out of Pennsylvania!
