When I’ve pointed out to my students that Trump is, at absolute best, a mediocre businessman who is far better at promoting himself and his image, and when I show them his multiple business failures, they’re genuinely shocked.

The image of Trump presented here in the Czech Republic is that he’s a highly successful real-estate mogul. His failures - which are legion - are entirely ignored.

He’s proved good at one thing and that’s promoting himself. And he benefited from that by being born in New York and New York loving obnoxious self promoters like that. I’d like to ask the people who think Trump is so successful if they ever had a Trump steak, drank Trump vodka, or if they’ve ever gambled at a Trump casino. I actually have stayed at a Trump hotel but it was just in name only. He did not actually own it.
