Republicans suck.

Reminds me of the Chicago Snowpocalypse of 1979, which was not handled particularly well by Bilandic, our city’s mayor of that time. (I was a city girl then) There was no Twitter, but the mayor repeatedly made mistakes in his public announcements about the state of the snow cleanup and expressed a sense of serious grievance — very different in style from Boyd — but vocally very upset with public response to the conditions in the city. The outcome of this fiasco was that Bilandic lost the election in May that year to Jane Byrne, who became the city’s first woman mayor, a job she never would have won without the failed response to the snowfall.
