It looks like the Two Apples have finally achieved something that’s been a thorny problem for many years — according to the Wall Street Journal’s Ethan Smith, they’ve reached an agreement to sell the Beatles catalog through iTunes.
Apple Computers and Apple Records, together at last. And just in time for Christmas.
One of Quentin Tarantino’s coolest movies was released today on DVD and Blu-ray disc: Inglorious Basterds, starring Brad Pitt and Mike Myers. I saw this in a theater, and highly recommend it if you’re down with Tarantino’s amped-up, graphic style.
And if you don’t want to wait for the DVD to be delivered, you can download it from the iTunes Store in an “iTunes Extra” edition with alternate scenes and other special content: Inglorious Basterds.
Some of the reviewers at Amazon seem to think Regina Spektor’s new album Far is “over-produced” — no way. This is a little gem of idiosyncratic pop music. Sparse instrumentation, and just enough production to make it right.
I bought the album at Amazon MP3, where it’s $7.99 compared to Apple iTunes’ $13.99. The iTunes version includes three bonus tracks, but it’s still cheaper to buy them individually after getting the rest of the album at Amazon.
