Here’s an excellent report by Rachel Maddow on right wing media’s coverage of the capture of the main suspect in the Benghazi attacks, focusing on the king of all wingnut sites, Drudge Report — and segueing into a look at how the media is pushing so many pundits who were disastrously wrong about Iraq as “experts” once again.
This is something Rachel Maddow does very well — take the time to go into a complex subject in enough depth to really be informative; in this case, it’s a good look into the Radical Racist Context Missed in the Bundy Ranch Hype.
Rachel Maddow began her interview with Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R - Rubber Room) with a question about a comment Huelskamp had tweeted accusing President Obama of politicizing the military when he ended the State of the Union speech by praising the bravery of Army Ranger Cory Remsburg, and his courage as he has battled back from being in a coma and nearly dying.
Huelskamp’s reply is a world salad that would make Sarah Palin proud.
Loony libertarian Rand Paul is feeling the heat from criticisms that he has repeatedly engaged in plagiarism in his speeches, and today on ABC’s This Week he expressed a desire to kill his critics: Rand Paul on Plagiarism Charges: If Dueling Were Legal in Kentucky…
Sen. Rand Paul said Sunday that accusations of plagiarism in his speeches makes [sic] him wish dueling were legal in Kentucky.
“I take it as an insult, and I will not lie down and say people can call me dishonest, misleading or misrepresenting — I have never intentionally done so and like I say, ‘If dueling were legal in Kentucky, if they keep it up, you know it’d be a duel challenge,’ ” Paul said on ABC’s “This Week.”
Yes, that’s what he’s saying; if it were legal, he’d really like to go all 187 on Rachel Maddow.
It’s a joke, of course! One of those hilarious knee-slappers the right wing is famous for.
Rachel at her best.
Not only do Jim DeMint and Ralph Reed say they’re in favor of forcing women who request abortions to have ultrasound probes, they say women want this.
It’s an amazingly revealing moment.
DeMint: She’s forgetting about the thousands of women who want an informed choice, who want the opportunity to get a free ultrasound, which they can get not from Planned Parenthood, but from a lot of these pregnancy centers.
