Here’s another view of the guy with the I Love New York sign, from a whacked-out conspiracy page at the Bay Area branch of Nazimedia, where the consensus is that they basically approve: Signs of the Times - Exposure of the 911 Lies and Cover-ups at M20_04. (Hat tip: Critical Bill.)

Please notice: just as in the first picture, no one around him sees anything strange.

That's a good answer to those that were accusing zombie of faking it. Thanks for posting it, Charles!

Someone should send a link to that photo to the Peaceful Tomorrows crowd.

Someone with DU access should post it there, too.

Wow, Alex, how the hell did you get access to that?

How about sewing him in a sack with some pissed off porcupines?

I'd like to beat the shit outta that guy.

12 zulubaby  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 3:50:36pm

Actually, this link may be better. And take note of his lovely sign too.

13 Jaffar abu Grand Vizier  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 3:50:45pm

I would like to put that guy in a room with 4 guys: 2 NYPD, 2 FDNY, and close the door. 30 minutes, tops. B*stard.

14 Max Darkside  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 3:51:17pm

I think the I_L_NY guy is just sending a confused message. I think he means he loves NY and after the towers were taken down he has a yet warmer place in his heart for NY (love/sympathy).

I doubt seriously that he means he likes the idea that the WTC was whacked to oblivion, but I could be wrong

15 zulubaby  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 3:52:07pm

Aaargh! There was just an earthquake.

16 zulubaby  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 3:53:12pm

Where's Ed Moran the Weather Man? Let's see what that one was on the Richter scale.

17 realwest  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 3:53:30pm

Yo Charles. If I counted correctly, you've made 23 posts today (and I'll bet you're not through yet)! Jeez - if there'd a been LGF when I was a teenager, I could've blamed my incipient carpal tunnel on you, instead of
Hustler magazine!!!
And over the weekend you had something in excess of 3000 visitors on line at one time. Man, maybe there is something to your bike riding (other than sweating an awful lot just to go from point A to point A (hat tip, Thom!!).
Just wanted to say thanks, again, for litllegreenfootballs.

18 militarybrat  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 3:54:13pm

So, we can carry a sign that says, "I'd love San Francisco even more without the idiot 'I heart NY Guy.' Anyone got a plane?"

I absolutely know how horribly morbid and in bad humor that is. I was not trying to offend, just making a point to someone who obviously doesn't understand compassion.

I'd gladly trade this 'tard for anyone and everyone in the Towers or non-hijackers on the planes that day.

19 PostalWorker  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 3:54:22pm

I'm a native Californian. If it isn't over 5, it isn't any fun. Loma Prieta was fun - I got to miss 3 days of school for that one!

Coalinga was cool, too. Wasn't in school then, though.

Up until I missed Northridge(I was living in Monterey) I was beginning to think that the damn things were following me around.

There was an 8 pointer in Mexico while I lived on Catalina Island. It made GREAT waves!!!

44 zombie  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 4:09:08pm

Re-post from the earlier thread that most people missed:

REALITY ALERT!
Both Thom and Doug have posted on their sites the three photos I have of the "I luv NY even more without the World Trade Center" guy -- the raw, untouched, full-sized complete images, straight out of my Canon PowerShot and onto the Web. Check them out for yourselves before accusing me of having Photoshopped anything:

Thom's site with all three raw images
Doug's site with image #1
Doug's site with image #2
Doug's site with image #3

If that doesn't shut up the reality deniers, then nothing will. Pay particular attention to the third image where the guy with the sign is way over on the edge of the picture, at an angle, in extreme closeup. If that doesn't convince you the images are real, you're a lost cause.
Thank you Thom and Doug!

In other news, elgato has created a mirror site for the images
at this site. Thank you elgato!

Why is this all necessary? Because the photos have exploded across the Internet. I am getting 100,000 hits per hour on my Web page. A great number of those hits, apparently, are coming from people who think I somehow faked the images.
There comes a time when everyone has to face reality. I hope this is that time for many sensible Democrats and leftists who find themselves trapped in an abusive marriage of convenience with hatemongers and fascists. Wake up, people.

This guy is looking for some off duty cops to come running out of a bar and kick his ass. That would have happened in old San Francisco. Today if they just glared at him they'd be charged with a hate crime.

The leftist gay community will be protected until some other minority makes them politically expendable. Then who will protect them?

Not only would they consider it "hate speech," they'd call you a racist, homophobic, gender exclusive oppressor. Then they'd call for the death penalty for your support of the death penalty.

Then they'd dance on your grave to folk music and protest tunes sung by Joan Baez.

72 Roll-aid  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 4:32:46pm

My only comment on Zombie's pics is that I've seen more excitment in a kindergarten outing.

These people look as if they were recruited for $5.15/hr to walk around with some signs they pick up out of a pile.

I can almost hear it now...

"Ok, everbody, now here is what we will do today. To get your pay, you have to put in at least two hours, walk from here to where the lady with walkie-talkie is and she will tell you where to go next. Make sure you wave the signs for any cameras, but only co-ordinators with green hats and a badge can speak to the press.

When the time is up and you get finished, just toss the sign into the dumpster and check in at that table across the street for the pay envelope. If you are SAG union, be sure you get your copy of the public performance release form from the co-ordinator. If you want to be in the next casting call for any of our next upcoming protests, leave your name and number or we won't call you.

Thank you very much. Have a nice day. "

You are not a ninny! And I do understand that some people are unnerved by earthquakes. But like militarybrat, I'm a California, born and raised in LA.

I've found earthquakes pretty neat and have been disappointed when they are so small that only sitting quietly can you feel them.

Memorable ones for me have been Sylmar, Whittier Narrows, and Northridge.

I'm much more leery of tornado alley in the mid-west, or hurricanes off of Florida. Those come every year, while a really big earthquake (like Loma Prieta... which will always be remembered because it happened during the World Series, shaking Candlestick Park, and collapsing a double decker freeway) happens only once every 10-25 years.

Course, I can see why non-capitalist countries fear earthquakes...the corruption is such that small/medium on the Richter scale that do no more bust a bunch of wine bottles on the floor, kill thousands in places like Iran.

Bestest thing to do zulu, is hang on and ride it out.

:-)

75 alf  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 4:34:53pm

Is anyone surprised by that sign? I'm not. As an ex-Democrat and I can assure you that there are millions of Americans who want: 1) a Socialist State 2) a secular country where mostly Christian expression is outlawed. 3) Heterosexual relationships are devalued. 4)Pornography replace sex education. 5) Harmful drugs legalized. 6) Limits on income. 7) the automobile replaced by the bicycle. 8) People who have talents in the physical sciences to be replaced with Socialist Engineers. 9) parenting dictated by a Socialist state. 10) Jesus declared as a gay prophet. 11)Islam scholars to be represented in the US Congress. 12) The Pentagon turned into a police agency that is subject to supervision from the UN. 13) Abortion on demand for 12 year olds...

Oh, well, you get the idea.

How can you fight back? Don't do any commerce with these kind of people. Don't hire them. Don't make purchases from them.

Most importantly, don't waste time trying to reason with them.

And if they get in the way, run 'em over.

76 Frank_Mtl  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 4:35:22pm

About the protester with the I LOVE NY EVEN MORE... sign.
Just a hypothesis : could this person's rationale have been "I think about the WTC as just a building (I refuse the mental image of people inside) - I will always Love NYC no matter what - No one can bring back the WTC - Therefore, even if it has disappeared, I will LOVE NYC even more without it. (Remember, I just think glass and steel structure...)"

Would have been ahelluva clumsy way to get such a message across, but would this be a valid reason this person could have for indeed a stupid sign given the spirit of the crowd around?

#102 jimmytheclaw - You're correct.

I lost my Dad in the WTC. And several friends. It doesn't matter to me that this guy is an idiot. I don't really care about his "politics". His conduct is not just ignoring the pain he has caused many of the surviving victims of 9/11; he's pushing more of it.
I tried to be a little lighter on this in my post at #47, but I just can't take it anymore.
Just give me two minutes alone in a locked room, no windows, with this guy. Hell, I'll settle for 1.
I wish Rayra or Zombie or someone out there could take the clearest pic of this guy, and photoshop or whatever a banner across the bottem of the pic:

WANTED: DEAD OR DEAD
paid for by the victims of 9/11.

Hell I'd pay for a hard copy myself, but would love to see THAT posted here and all over the internet.

Chip in another 100 bucks for the local Hell's Angles to chain-whip and stop the shit out of him, then make millions selling the video of his demise? Why, all the shareholders would be rich!

P.S. Actually, the Hell's Angels would probably be gravely insulted by this deal, so let's just forget about the 100 bucks.

133 Ed Moran:Abu Dead Murderers in Wheelchairs?  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 6:13:50pm

I think it takes very special people to even feel anything under a 3

The only earthquake that I remember was summer of 1992 in Bakersfield. I was impressed by how much everything swayed, at such a slow relaxed pace.

Does a Dr. Lucille Jones still come on TV after every major earthquake in the Southland?

We have Dr. Neil Frank, retired head of the National Hurricane Center on KHOU-TV. Dr. Frank is very old school, has the same GI flat top he had back when I was a little hurricane fan and he would come on TV from Miami.

Dr. Frank, brief bio

Dr. Frank may someday become as big a Texas weather tradition as the late Harold Taft.

Taft was a life saver

I answered the National Weather Service phone on the night of May 8th, 1981 to hear the familiar voice of the greatly respected, legendary Texas TV meteorologist Harold Taft. Having worked with Harold on a number of preparedness projects, he recognized my voice, and asked, "Alan is that what I think it is on the radar scope?" I answered, that yes, it was a developing hook echo, and that we were preparing a tornado warning for Tarrant County and the city of Fort Worth. Harold went on the air immediately, announcing the tornado threat a minute or so before the NWS warning hit the weather wire circuit.

The next day I surveyed the damage from what we later decided had been a combination of downburst and sporadic tornado spin ups. A gentleman whose home incurred severe F2 damage remarked to me that Harold's warning had saved his family's lives. My initial reaction was to tell him that while the NWS had issued the warning, its dissemination was a joint effort between the NWS, broadcast media, and local Emergency Management. Luckily, I didn't say anything. What mattered other than that lives were saved?

Taft organized early North Texas storm spotter networks

My interest in storm chasing developed through my involvement in amateur radio and RACES SKYWARN storm spotting. During my junior high and high school years, I was a "Weather Watcher" for a local TV weather legend, Harold Taft. Before the National Weather Service SKYWARN program got off the ground, Harold Taft trained his group of Weather Watchers to spot and report severe weather. Harold Taft held training sessions each year at the WBAP (now KXAS) studios, located just east of downtown Fort Worth. He had Weather Watchers in almost every county and many small towns across North Central Texas. Mr. Taft also collected rainfall reports and relayed them to viewers during his telecasts on WBAP-TV (now KXAS), channel 5. Harold Taft was one of the vanishing breed of TV personalities who brought both integrity and professionalism to the airwaves, something that is often a rare commodity on television today. However, his successors at channel 5 are carrying on in his tradition.

Actually, mine wasn't Northridge, it was Big Bear City 6/28/92 (click on the "6.5"). My work was red-tagged and the house next door was red-tagged, but all I got was my chimney detaching itself from the house. That and everything in the kitchen was on the floor -- every dish and glass I owned was broken. I held my big (plexiglass) aquarium against the wall so it didn't fall over.

We just need to keep watching the Liberal websties and blogs. Sooner or later someone will be stupid enough to post a picture where you can see this guys face.
Or, just as likely, he'll be dumb enough to brag about it.

For those of you who are trying to find a reason to give him the benefit of the doubt... give it up. Stop trying to believe that humans are "basically good" on the inside. The fact is that we are evil to the core, but have the will to choose against it. If you can conceive of an act, no matter how immoral, disgusting, violent, etc it may be, there are people who would do it in a heartbeat if given the chance.

It's time to stop trying to see the "good" in these animals, and time to start butchering them.

Wow.

I grew up in Granada Hills (1954-68..then moved to Brea), I was living in Ontario in '94 and even the Inland Empire rocked-n-rolled (ok...one daughter slept through it). I remember so vividly one particular sight the TV news captured... a gyser of water from a broken hydrant, shooting a huge, powerful plume into the air through an undulating ball of flame .. a gas main had broken and ignited.

That was on the corner of Rinaldi and Balboa ... the way I walked each day for seven years while attending Rinaldi Street Elementary School.

it was weird.

Luckily, I've never suffered much if any damage from quakes, however I still live in the Inland Empire and we get the wind like Granada Hills does. Last spring, it was so fierce (clocked with 85 mph gusts at LA-ONT airport), it was ripping up trees and felling powerpolls. Our 2nd story looks out over the valley and we woke to watch as transformers were blowing up... hot blue-white flares...and whole swathes of the city go immediately dark. We lost our power, too... for two days! You don't really realize how much you take electricity for granted until you don't have it!

147 Darleen  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 8:35:01pm

Oh.. and then there were the fires last October that came within a hairs breadth of wiping out the neighborhoods just north of us (people at my work lost their homes)

So. Cal "seasons"

Fire
Mud
Smog
Quake

;-)

though, I can't think of any place I'd rather live!

148 zulubaby  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 8:51:40pm

Darleen, I think there are quite a few of us and it would be great if we could get together. Where and when? :-)

149 Spiny Norman  Mon, Mar 22, 2004 9:15:25pm

Rayra,

Yikes. My 'quake story wasn't nearly so bad... I had one of those legendary adrenaline moments though: while I'm getting sloshed with aquarium water I hear what sounds like a truck hitting my house. When the shaking and banging stops, I go outside and find the neighbor's massive stone chimney has collapsed against the side of my house and buried the gas meter. Convinced I can smell gas, I heave a huge chunk of stone and mortar off of it and shut off the gas. Well, a couple of days later when the guy from the Gas Co. comes by to check the system and turn the gas back on, we could not move that thing for the life of us -- it must of weighed at least 400 lbs.

I worked for the local paper back then and, wouldn't you know it, we didn't miss an issue, despite having all of 48 hours to set up in temporary facilities. Jittery nerves and continuous aftershocks created kind of a bunker mentality: a popular t-shirt commemorating the event read:

Oh Lord, give us this day only a 4.5!

#117 RWC's "Lil Friend" is similar to a woman in my office. (But with clothes on.)

She has two limbs that are literally the size of sacks of concrete attached to her body. It takes a massive effort on her part just to move these two sacks so that she can make some semblance of walking like a normal person.

I do sympathize with her plight, but OTOH, I have to ask myself, what was she thinking when she weighed "ONLY" 300 pounds? Or 250? Or even 200? Sorry, but she didn't come out of the womb weighing 400 pounds.

154 V the K  Tue, Mar 23, 2004 3:11:01am

Probably someone has said this already, and I apologize if it's old news... but I think the sign guy thought he was making a clever statement against globalism. He thinks the destruction of the World Trade Center was a blow against world capitalism

It may be so. But how can one be so moronic not to think of the double meaning of this type of slogan? Oh, yeah, it reminds me of a good quote by Michel Audiart, anreally funny and ironical scenarist:
"C**ts dare everything. In fact, this is how you recognise them"

156 V the K  Tue, Mar 23, 2004 5:08:23am

Something else is apparent looking over the pictures. You know, lefties really should ask for their mothers' help when they dress. I mean, okay, granted... you'll find me in jeans and a sweatshirt or jersey most weekends, I'm definitely not "Queer Eye" material, but I know enough not to wear pink and orange together. These people, for the most part, look like they dressed themselves out of the reject pile at Goodwill.

157 lawhawk  Tue, Mar 23, 2004 5:11:26am

I just wonder if any of the 9/11 victims' families that belong to the anti-war coalition would have anything to say about this creep. You know which groups. The ones that support John Kerry. Do you think they'd distance themselves from the likes of this wingnut?

After all, they're against 'the war,' Bush, and anything that the US has done to protect itself from further attacks.

Ppl marvel that we can turn out our "leaders" if they're not doing the job. And they marvel even more when they find out Ah-nold is doing a good job, considering the circumstances.

Maybe they'll be some sort of boycott of San Francisco and the Bay Area because of this?

One can only hope...
