37 Aisha  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 5:45:27pm

Wa'sallaam,

I find it disgraceful that:

1. A Muslimah would allow herself to be photographed at all. Photography, taking of pictures, video, etc. are all totally prohibited in Shari’ah. Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Verily the people who are punished the worst by Allah are the Musawwiroon (picture-makers).’ (Bukhari). Therefore, no matter where photography, video, etc. of animate objects are done are all Haraam.

2. A Muslimah would allow herself to be photographed in such a disgraceful, immodest pose (and without proper Hijaab).

Now everyone knows that the Palestinians are the most oppressed people in the world, and they have the right to defend themselves against the unjust illegitimate zionist entity. Insh'allah her son will have attained shahada. But that does not entitle them to ignore the sunnah of our beloved Nabi (SAW), and the teachings of Islaam.

In fighting oppression, their focus should be on the cause of Islaam and the greatness of Allaah Ta'ala.

Nancy, the fact that they do not look underweight is more proof of the greatness of Allaah (SWT); despite their oppression, Allaah (SWT) provides for them in their misery. It is obviously true that Allaah Ta'ala has been relieving their distress. The greatest factor which will increase or rather incur barakat and blessings in ones sustenance is total obedience to Allah Ta'ala and His Rasul (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam). As mentioned in a Hadith, disobedience and sin deprives and diminishes the sustenance of a person. Five times daily salaat is also a means through which Allah Ta'ala causes blessings and increase in ones earnings. In the Ahaadith, there are numerous deeds of piety mentioned which increase the sustenance of a person e.g. upholding family ties and spending in the path of Allah. Nabi (SAW) used to make the following Du'aa: Allahummak fina bi halaalika an haraamika wa agnina bifadlika amman siwaak.

It is just very sad that so many Palestinians ignore the rules of Hijaab and take photographs.

Aisha.

37 Aisha --Nice try --I don't think Allah is providing for them but Hamas and the PA certainly pay them to sacrifice their children.

Your logic is ridiculous. There are Muslims in African and other third world countries who are under-nourished and you are suggesting that they are not good enough for Allah to provide for.

Wrong --they don't have benefactors like Hamas who pay them to kill Jews and infidels.

If there are any males on this site who are non-mahram to me, I advise them to lower their gaze and not read this post; it could be most harmful to their Imaan.

In Islaam, it is not permissible for one to put any impure substance into one's mouth.

Since oral sex normally results in the impure discharges of the husband's private part going into the wife's mouth, it is not permissible. On the contrary, if the possibility of any impurity entering the mouth is
eradicated, then it will be permissible for the wife to caress the genitals of her husband.

OT: "Massacre" in Jenin

Just saw an excellent documentary on a Toronto Channel about Jenin that I would recommend any and all seeing ASAP.

Jenin: Massacring Truth documents the struggle of Israeli soldier Jonathan Van Caspel to remove the stain of war crimes directed against him and his unit.

Two years ago, Palestinian militants opened a suicide-bombing offensive against Israeli cities. Israel responded by invading the West Bank. Jonathan and his unit were fighting against Palestinian militants in Jenin. The Euro-British media, with reports that reached millions around the world, declared Israel was committing massacres and atrocities in Jenin. Months later, commissions from the United Nations and Human Rights Watch cleared Israel of that charge. But for Jonathan, the stain of being branded a war criminal remained.

Jenin: Massacring Truth goes into Jenin and the war with footage rarely seen in the outside world. It profiles Jonathan in battle and profiles the Palestinian militants - still on the run - who fought against Jonathan and other Israeli units in Jenin. The documentary also gives Jonathan a rare chance to meet some of the journalists who branded Israel's actions as a violation of human rights.

Filmed in Israel, the West Bank, Jenin, London, Johannesburg, Washington, Boston and Toronto, Jenin: Massacring Truth includes interviews with world-renown jurist Alan Dershowitz, Palestinian Minister Saeb Erakat, Israeli Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Palestinian fighters of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.

Jenin: Massacring Truth is produced by Elsash Productions and directed and written by Martin Himel. A Canadian journalist, Himel has covered the Mideast for more than 20 years and has reported for Global National as well as CTV, CBC, FOX and ABC.

Its particularly good because it shows the Palestinians themselves disputing the massacre claim as well as a few very anti-Semitic reporters.

One shows exasperation when being questioned why she wrote what she did about Jenin and stuttering over her words, she tries to compare Jenin to Kosovo...then rants about Ariel Sharon at the same time asking one man to leave the room because he is an Israeli at which point she rudely asks the reporter if he is Israeli or Jew.

Excellent Piece.

Unfortunately, I taped it on my TV card, but Hubby must have been screwing around with my settings on that PC because I tape things all the time and suddenly, this one hour program is a 2.4 gigabyte file.
I was going to turn it into a Torrent file and upload it to Bit Torrent, a P2P file sharing program in order to ensure it would make its way around the net ASAP and those still claiming conspiracys around Jenin might catch it.

Due to its unfortunate size, this is now unlikely!

If no one else does with a smaller size file, I will then do it and hope some don't mind downloading that size since downloading DVDs are still much bigger, but in the meantime, it can be purchased at a link I will provide at the bottom.
If not I will try to find the time to convert it to either a smaller MPEG file or even a smaller AVI, but I prefer not to convert if I dont have to and lose some video quality.

Any Regs w/SoulSeek or/FTP email me if u dont mind the size for P2P.
But I would be the first to suggest buying it if you can as it is going to a very good cause.

Do you know if any fatwa has ever been issued w/r/t martyr portraits (you know, in which the splodeydope-to-be poses with an AK and a Koran), or all photographs in general? I cannot figure out how so many supposedly pious, believing Muslims blatantly flaunt the prohibition on the depiction of the human form.

As for the picture--the brother sure likes to show off his muscles and his gun, doesn't he?" It's a real macho culture, isn't it, with all the hardware and all male companionship and guys only in the teashops and the domination of everyone in the alpha male's household--the women, yes! but everyone else as well.

As macho as some of the Latin cultures are, the Islamic culture is far moreso. The men have been spoiled to expect to always be first and be obeyed.

Your logic is ridiculous.

Nancy, Islam does encourage logical reason but within the boundaries defined by the Shari’ah. The intellect of man is limited and as such, he will not always be able to comprehend the wisdom of divine law. Sometimes, man is unable to understand the logics of Shari’ah law. He is obliged to accept it whether it appeals to his intellect or not.

My original post is derived from Quar'aan and authentic Ahadith and it is therefore correct. The question is not 'is it logical?'; the true question is 'is it Islamic?'.

There is NO clear prohibition of oral sex and some recommend a condem, some say it is not recommended and others say that sperm is considered "pure" and therefore OK. In other words --there is NO ONE opinion and NONE claim it is prohibited. They only differ on what constitutes "unpure fluid."

the Shari`ah does not categorically prohibit oral sex, it appears to be against the overall teachings of the Shari`ah.
[Link: www.understanding-islam.com...]

Here is a Fatwa which permits it: “Your wives are a tillage for you [to cultivate] [nisa’u-kum harthun l-kum]
so go to your tillage as you wish. [fa-’’tu hartha-kum anna shi’tum] Q 2:223.
[Link: www.zawaj.com...]

Here is one which prohibits it: [Link: www.zawaj.com...]

Here is another: There is no clear prohibition about oral sex in the Qur'an or the sunnah of the Prophet (SAAWS). However, according to many jurists, the fluids that the male of female organs emit during the time of sexual excitement, such as many (sperm) or madhi; etc., are all considered negis and they should not touch the mouth of the man or the woman. It is for this reason that many scholars do not recommend this practice and consider it makrooh.

62 Aisha  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 6:32:03pm
If that's true, then how can any man be sure that the Qur'an is indeed divine law?

The fact that the Qur'aan is from Allah is self explanatory to the perfection of the Qur'aan, as Allah Ta'ala is Himself Subhaan (perfect). The Qur'aan challenges any one who doubts the authenticity of the Qur'aan to bring forth a single verse like the Qur'aan. The Arabs of the time of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi WaSallam) were experts in Arabic and after having exhausted every opportunity to de-authenticate the Qur'aan, they failed. The challenge stood its ground until today and will remain until eternity.

The Qur'aan is perfect, so it's source must be perfect, too. None but Allaah Ta'alla (SWT) is perfect.

I can't post too much more today, if my brother catches me talking to kufr, even Islamicly, he will want to beat me.

No, not with each other. I mean, I was talking up here in Seattle, and he was talking wherever it is he lives, but hey, we were talking at the same time, so that's like talking with each other, isn't it?

And both Glenn Reynolds and I have several letters in our name that are the same, including the "s" and the "n."

Not that I'm desperate for attention or anything.

I can understand the anguish that comes from losing a loved one. I can't understand posing for photographers to express that anguish and anger to the world on a personal level. It cheapens the loss, ever how ignomious the cause.

The hippies taught the Palis how to protest. They perfected it and the press eats it up. I must admit that is a great and emotionally charged photo. Too bad it is most likely produced as in part of a photoshoot.

Pity for this woman is sympathy for the devil.

Sister Aisha, as-sallamu alayki .

You need not wait until your mahram arrives to read this since I typed it with my eyes closed.

Jazakillaah please help me with this question since you are so knowledgeable about Islam:

Al nabi SAW has instructed us to face towards Makkah almukarramah for our salaat.

I live in Miami, Florida, USA, which is located directly West of Makkah. My Imam and all the muslims here said I must therefore face East for salaat.

But I know from geometry class that to face Makkah I must face North East, since on a sphere the shortest distance between two points is a "great circle", and not the lines that only appear straight on the flat "Mercator Projection" maps (which is why airplanes flying to the Middle East fly North East to save fuel).

Who is right? Me or the rest of the blessed Ummah? I think muslims have been deceived for centuries by the Western mapmakers into thinking we are facing Makkah when really we are facing someplace else.

Perhaps this is why Allah SWT has heaped so much misfortune on our people, because we have all been praying in the wrong direction, disobeying his wishes SWT.

Verily, the kufr continue to deceive and oppress us and cause us to sin with their maps -- even the name Mercator sounds Jewish.

Reuters trying to make terrorists sound cutesy and gentle by calling them "activists" is getting really old. What I would give to corner a Reuters "reporter" at a party and ask him this question:

When a member of Hamas blows up a Reuters reporter, will the story refer to the Hamas-member as an "activist"?

138 Aisha  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 9:03:00pm

Wa'sallaam

Someone on this site is mocking me.

Each of the posts under my name after pst #83 are by someone attempting to imitate me.

Tony Abu Tuz: Hadhrat Mufti Rashid Saheb Ahsanul Fatwa Volume 2 Pages 313 stated that one is allowed 45 Degrees' variation on either side of the Quibla. This view is based on many proofs mentioned in the books of fiqh. It follows that, under Shari'ah it does not matter whether you face East or North East when performing your salaat.

And to the person who is posting in my name, I say "Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'The fire of this world is 1/70 of the fire of Hell.' He said, 'The fire of Jahannum burnt for 1000 years until it was red, then another 1000 years until it was white, then another 1000 years until it turned black.'".

140 Aisha  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 9:04:54pm

#134 Kufr Abu Tuz,

Verily, this is not how one speaks to one's sister.

I must examine my own behaviour, however. It is most immodest for me to be conversing with kufrs. Nabi (SAW) has instructed us to avoid "rivers contaminated by ignorance." It is a metaphor for interaction with unholy kufrs.

Time for salaat.

Aisha

141 Aisha  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 9:10:36pm

#140

Regarding interaction with kufrs:

Between 7 AH and 10 AH, after Fateh Makkah until the Prophet’s demise, there was such an influx of people entering into Islam as was not witnessed in the preceding 20 years.

Imam Zuhri Rahmatullahi Alayh, an eminent Muhaddith and Tabee, expresses surprise on this sea change, with so many people embracing Islam in a matter of just 3 years. He along with other distinguished Muhaddith have commented that this large scale conversion was due to non-Muslims having an opportunity, for the first time, to observe and intermingle with Muslims, witnessing their honesty, fair dealing, compassion, and their sole reliance on Almighty Allah. This left such a deep and profound impression on non-Muslims that thousands entered into the fold of Islam within a relatively short period of time.

This incident also contains abundant lessons on how Muslims should live in the west. Their conduct should be so sublime and captivating that whosoever sees us accepts Islam. Whosoever sits with us should be inclined towards Islam. There should be no need to convince anyone to accept the Truth.

I think my posts have inclined you to the sincerest form of flattery. Imitation. Stop it or Allah Ta'ala will make you blind.

Aisha.

The people wanting white water rafters to carry porta-potties on their rafts while floating the Deschutes River in Oregon are "activists".

So are the members of the Nude White Water Rafter's Club. Sometimes a raft may flip, spilling some poor bastard's beer. Then the rest of the day is beer fishing derby day. Hence the need for the porta-potties.

The trouble is the rafts are only 15 feet long. And youhave to have room for your gear, (2 day trip), beer, food and 3 or 4 bodies per raft.

So far I have never seen any RPG's, AK 47's or killing of any kind, although a party behind us was tripping on acid and got some broken bones.

Activists are a far freakin' cry from Hamas, Hez[bull]ah, or any of a dozen ROPMA orgs.

Crossroads, seem to come and go, yeah.
The gypsy flies from coast to coast

Knowing many, loving none,
Bearing sorrow havin' fun,
But back home he'll always run
To sweet Aisha... mmm...

Freight train, each car looks the same, all the same.
And no one knows the Gypsy's name

No one hears his lonely sigh,
There are no blankets where he lies.
In all his deepest dreams the Gypsy flies
with sweet Aisha... mmm...

Again the morning's come,
Again he's on the run,
Sunbeams shining through his hair,
Appearing not to have a care.
Well, pick up your gear and Gypsy roll on, roll on.

Crossroads, will you ever let him go? (Lord, Lord)
Will you hide the dead man's ghost,
Or will he lie, beneath the clay,
or will his spirit roll away?

But I know that he won't stay without Aisha.

Yes I know that he won't stay without Aisha.

Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaah,

Nancy, returning to our discussion of husband-wife relations, there are two types of liquids that emit from the private parts:

1. Mazi - thick liquid which emits after erection and before ejaculation. Mazi is impure (Najis). If it soils any portion of the clothes, it must be washed before performing Salaat. Mazi invalidate Wudhu only. There is no need to take a bath upon and after the emission of Mazi.

2. Mani - a thick fluid which comes out with force and satisfies one's passion. The emission of Mani causes diserection. Mani is also impure like Mazi. Mani invalidates Ghusl.

That, as far as most reliable aalim are concerned, is the correct Shar'ee position with respect to the impurity of fluids. Oral sex is only permissable where there is no chance whatsoever of allowing the husband's impurity into the wife's mouth.

Postalworker: That was lovely, verily. :-) Swampwoman, I must to bed-- read back upthread for some good entertainment-- I'm still not sure who Aisha really was...

Jamie: "now it is the time of night,
when all the graves are open'd wide,
to let forth every dancing sprite,
along the churchway paths to glide,
and we faeries that do run
by Hecate's triple team
from the passion of the sun
following darkness like a dream..."

my second favorite.

swampwoman,

#168, sorry, our messages got crossed. The answer to your question is: Ew. I don't know. Ew.

(But I do remember reading somewhere that modesty is a factor in such things...)

Anyway, do you know the song I'm talking about?

172 Aisha  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 9:58:32pm

merav, this is an excellent point. There are two aspects that need to be considered. First, permissability under the Shari'ah and secondly, the question of modesty.

Islam encourages morality. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'Imaan and shame are companions. When one is lifted, the other is also lifted.' We are encouraged to display modesty during intimate relationships. It is immodest for the husband and wife to look at one another's private parts. It is to be discouraged.

It is permissible for the husband and wife to arouse one another by caressing the sensitive organs of one another.

Merav:

Well it was all that I could do to keep from crying.
Sometimes it seems so useless to remain.
But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'.
You never even called me by my name.

You don't have to call me Waylon Jennings.
And you don't have to call me Charlie Pride.
And you don't have to call me Merle Haggard anymore,
Even though you're on my fightin' side.

And I'll hang around as long as you will let me.
And I never minded standing in the rain.
But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'.
You never even called me by my name.

Well I've heard my name a few times in your phone book.
(Hello, Hello.)
And I've seen it on signs where I've played.
But the only time I know I'll hear David Allan Coe
Is when Jesus has his final Judgement Day.

So, I'll hang around as long as you will let me.
And I never minded standing in the rain.
But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'.
You never even called me by my name.

(spoken:)
Well, a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song,
and he told me it was the perfect country and western song.
I wrote him back a letter and I told him it was not the
perfect country and western song because he hadn't said
anything at all about momma, or trains, or trucks,
or prison or gettin' drunk. Well, he sat down and
wrote another verse to this song and he sent it to me and
after reading it I realized that my friend had written the
perfect country and western song. And I felt obliged to include
it on this album. The last verse goes like this here:

Well, I was drunk the day my momma got out of prison,
And I went to pick her up in the rain.
But before I could get to tye station in the pick-up truck,
She got runned over by a damned old train.

And I'll hang around as long as you will let me.
And I never minded standin' in the rain. Ohhh.
You don't have to call me darlin', darlin'.
You never even called me,
Well I wonder why you don't call me,
Why don't you ever call me by my name?

Other question: Re the federales song: I think that was Waylon and Willie, from the movie Pancho and Lefty?

187 Rev. Churchmouse  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 10:15:42pm

Swampwoman- That would be Cablevision- in my case Cablevision of Oakland NJ.

The deal is way better than any offer I've seen anywhere- I'm so broke that I have to swith to a cable system with HBO and Starz and take broadband because it wil be $5 amonth cheaper than dialup.
Figure in the free long distance and I'll save another $40.00 a month.

I was getting desperate trying to figure out how I could afford to pay for beer anymore. As long as I make enough long distance calls every month , I figure I can drink for free.

Supposedly, it's a special ofer only for previous customers that left- but sometimes you can wangle out a special offer just by knowing about it, depending on the company.

And Pancho and Lefty sounds familiar - my brother-in-law used to play it endlessly and my sister insists that's one reason they're now divorced. But I liked the song.

Thanks for the lyrics! Have a good night!

Thanks for the info! Like I said, I live beyond the reaches of civilization (or at least broadband), but I think that Comcast is the only cable company around. I'm really, really tired of dial up. Um, does having broadband mean that your ISP doesn't kick you off the internet every 5 freakin' minutes? (Or maybe AOL just hates me, and I'm too dang lazy to change ISPs and all my favorite places, plus I get about 400 e-mails a day, some of which I read.)

194 merav  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 10:23:07pm

Yikes! I really have to get going! But you reminded me of another great song.

I know they're not genuine country, but the Stones had a great country song with "The Girl with Faraway Eyes."

We used to blast that when we waitresses were setting up in the morning...

Almost forgot. Night, Aisha! Keep that paper bag close now, y'hear?

197 Rev. Churchmouse  Wed, Apr 28, 2004 10:34:44pm

Swampwoman,

Broadband is like anything else- if it's configured right, no you shouldn't get disconnected at all.
On the other hand, if it's configured wrong it can be a nightmare to get connected at all.

Civilization is over-rated. I live less than 20 miles from NYC in your basic suburbia. No DSL available from the phone company. Satellite hookup is about $70.00 a month. Broadband cable has only been available a little over a year.

If you stay with dialup, go to earthlink. At least they offer a free add-on that speeds up page loading on dial up.

It wil be nice to be able to take advantage of streaming media, or for that matter, just to be able refresh an LGF page without needing to take upo a hobby while it loads.

As other people have noticed, these two people don't look "Palestinian," but rather black-African. Are they from Sudan or another African muslim nation? Some kind of converts?

#61   Crusade Now
I guess the fact that this owman is black person and has a completely different skin tone to Arafat or even the blonde Suha Arafat puts paid to the LIE that the Palestinians are or ever were a people. Aslo proves the fact that a lot of different people migrated their during the mandate years to share in the economy.

I know there are Ethiopian Jews...so maybe there are Ethiopian Palestinians [/joke?]. Actually, we take it for granted that western-style democracies are frequently multi-ethnic (like the U.S.), and no one really notices that most Middle-Eastern countries are monocultures. It takes a rare exception like this black Palestinian family to highlight the obvious -- that all the other Palestinians are nearly identical looking. Personally, I think a good genetic mix makes for a healthy society. Since the Arabs expelled or killed most of the "others" in their midst over the centuries, they've ended up with the dreaded "Prince Charles syndrome": worn-out genes being recycled over and over again. I once read a shocking medical journal article about the rate of birth defects in Muslim lands: apparently they are sky-high, due to generation after generation of cousin/cousin arranged marriages in most Muslim societies. After enough time you end up with Desert Deliverance. In any event, the Palestinians are a lost cause due to their completely fucked up culture -- it's got nothing to do with "race."

209 Bubbaman  Thu, Apr 29, 2004 3:39:46am

A great accounting of the press' bias against Israel:

'A real journalist'
Jerusalem Post's Khaled Abu Toameh, born in Tulkarem, is a unique voice of straightforward reporting from the West Bank and Gaza.

InContext reports from a talk Abu Toameh gave in Philadelphia on Tuesday. Excerpt:

Why is he working for a "right wing Israeli newspaper?" Abu Toameh says he's always asked. Because he's a "real journalist." In the PA, there are no real journalists, just mouthpieces for the thugocracy (my word, not his).
As for the foreign press, Abu Toameh shrugs. They see no evil and hear no evil when it comes to the behavior of the PA. He describes an incredible scene back in 2002 when he was covering an event at the mukata, Arafat's compound in Ramallah. With a crowd of international reporters standing around, two palestinian policemen brought a man out, threw him up against a wall and shot him -- right under the window of Arafat's office. When the reporters converged, the policeman seemed bewildered. It was just a simple execution, nothing to get excited about, he said. And no one did. In fact, according to Abu Toameh, no one else even mentioned it. But he did.

The problem of imbalanced reporting, says Abu Toameh, has much to do with the failure of Israeli press relations:

When he's covering a story that reflects poorly on Israel and tries to get a government spokesman to offer a rebuttal, it's a long and frustrating process...The Arab spokespeople, on the other hand, are always more than willing to talk, to accomodate, to make a reporter feel welcome. Hospitality is a famed Arab trait, and one for which Israelis are not reknowned. Knock on the door, wake them up in the middle of the night, no problem. Hanan Ashrawi will come out in her nightgown to answer your questions.

Hey, Twisterella! I noted that you were a literate, well-read person and figured that you would be able to write a religion with some way more cool edicts and prohibitions and exhortations re sex than the Koran in, say, 24 hours or less. And then, being the Head Goddess in Charge and all (HGIC) then you could appoint a worthy person (ahem, me) to interpret your words to the masses and I would give out dispensations in return for hefty bribes.

226 SwampWoman  Thu, Apr 29, 2004 5:29:07am

I can't write a religion in 24 hours or less because I more or less live by the philosophy embodied in "The Shootist", to wit:

"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them."

And we simplistic folk with simplistic philosophies are just not nuanced enough to gather in the big bucks from bribery and all. Life in the unnuanced section can be way too straightforward.

These primitives never fail to amaze me.

"Oh, Allah, how could you permit the sons of pigs and monkeys to kill my brother before he had a chance to murder as many of them as possible? That's not faiiirrr!!! Waaahhh!!!"

I don't give a s*it what color these people are; they are all culturally and religiously part and parcel of the Jew-hating Death Cult. They are all Muslim, but they may not all be Arabs, although they would never admit the latter.

Muslims from many other areas have infiltrated the area ever since the Jews started returning in numbers in the late nineteenth century and providing work, and they continue to do so, sneaking over the borders and fading into Arab Israeli villages and West Bank and Gaza Arab communities. They all call themselves "Palestinians," even if their families have only been in the area for 50 years, 10 years, 1 year or 3 minutes. It's a total farce and is the basis for the real land grab by the occupants of what should all be Jewish territory.

Reposted from another thread

My good friend and LGF poster "Uzi" just got published as Letter of the Week on Mark Steyn's website. Here's an extract and the link

Letter Of The Week--CYPRUS'S PROPHETIC VOTE
For reasons of political correctness, I doubt that most pundits and media analysts will see the outcome of last Saturday's referendum in Cyprus for what it really was: an overwhelming vote by Christian Cypriots to keep Muslims out of their country. Over three quarters of Cyprus' Greek population (nearly entirely Christian and overwhelmingly Greek Orthodox) preferred to forgo the reunification of their divided country when the price of reunification was the inclusion in their population of the 137,000 or so Turkish Muslims who inhabit the northern part of the island. Greek Cypriots preferred - by a three to one margin - effectively to give up a third of their country's territory rather than to have a larger country in which 18% of the citizens would be Muslim. This choice - of demographic homogeneity over territorial expansiveness - represents a radical departure from historical trends which go back thousands of years. Yet I predict, that along Islam's bloody borders, it also represents the wave of the future.

evariste, I am unimpressed by your hudna. Make Charles tell us who Aisha is then, and I will believe you.
Drosophila Melanogaster are fruit flies, and as such, more interested in fruit.

So, Aisha, Ya ever do anal?

245 evariste  Thu, Apr 29, 2004 11:50:43am

Hey, I can't make Charles do anything :-) But I don't want him to tell us who Aisha is, she's too good and this is too much fun ;-)

Does Aisha mean anything in Arabic? Could it be a clue...This thread was hilarious.

Has Allah been ruled out?

Could this be a clue??? :) If it's one of the guys, he has a lot of 'splaining to do!

C'mon...Vogue!
Let your face contort for the camera.
(contort for the camera!)

Why do these people never strike me as being sincere in their grief when one of their splodey family members or friends gets capped in the act?

The picture has a weird sort of bizarre humor. I keep thinking it must be a photoshopped parody. But, unfortunately, it clearly isn't.

#246 writermom: Aisha was one of Muhammed's wives, umm, the youngest one.

#242 This is more about GReek chauvanism than Turks - I should know we have racist greeks in Australia. Try marrying let alone talking to a Greek girl. They are just one step up from Moslems.

I think (Abbey Road is) the best engineered, best mastered rock and roll album ever produced...except that I take exception to stereo placement. -- From "Frank Zappa talks about Faves, Raves, and composers in their g raves" - some English publication, I think. (2 & 3 from the book, "The Lives and Times of Frank Zappa and the Mothers", some Brit thing again (got it at Blue Meanie Imports in San Diego fifteen years ago.)
