Zuniga Hides the Evidence

Tue, Jul 27, 2004 at 12:36:50 pm PDT

Like the craven coward he is, Markos Zuniga, rising young star of the Democrats, has now removed the page at Daily Kos where he wrote “Screw them” about the four Americans torn apart and hung from a bridge in Fallujah. This is the URL, and it now leads to a story about the Democratic Convention. Two days ago, it led to the “Screw them” remark, followed by a chorus of approving backslapping from his sycophants.

Zuniga has also blocked access to his site for the Google cache and the Internet Archive Wayback Machine.

Craven. Coward.

UPDATE at 7/27/04 6:28:11 pm:

Zuniga’s ugly comment is still there on his site, as it turns out; scroll about halfway down this page: Screw them. But notice: click the date link next to his post, that is supposed to bring that comment up as a separate page—and voila! you get the replacement post again. Apparently, Zuniga has specifically installed a redirect for that URL, to prevent people from linking directly to his comment. (Hat tip: True blue.)

Fucking LIARS.

Its pathetic that the left wing can only win on a campaign of lies, distortion, manipulation, propaganda and cover up.

They have no soul. They are wrong and they know it- deep down in their black little cinder of a heart.

hot damn, #1.

Anyway, being a democrat, shouldn't that weasel be in favor of the 4 mutilated Americans. Democrats are, after all, the party of the people and those 4 were just a couple of fellas trying to make a living working for an American firm. Hell, they had no choice but to go to Iraq after their jobs outsourced to the Middle East.

Ironic, isn't it?

7 Jack Burton  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 10:40:57am

The Communist airbrush artists are alive and well. They can surely eliminate any incriminating evidence of their acts. Heck, they can eliminate all evidence of their acts.

Which makes the work of those who catalogue and uncover the airbrush artists all the more relevant and necessary.

Anyway, being a democrat, shouldn't that weasel be in favor of the 4 mutilated Americans.

Nope, they were employed by Eeeeevil corporations, and therefore (as far as Hatred-Boy is concerned) got what they deserved.

The worst thing you can do to a liberal is quote him accurately or cite his record truthfully. Proven time and time again.

I wonder if Zuniga's had the balls to tell off any of the "mercs" in Boston protecting his candy ass.

President Bush takes up mountain biking to be more like the Lizardoid Master

In the minutes before Monday's crash, he warned his riding party of a sharp drop and a hard left turn ahead. "I'm gonna show you a hill that would choke a mule," he said.

He hit the brakes and steadily advanced downhill when his front tire lost its grip on the loose rocks. His foot got stuck in a strap that keeps it on the pedal.

In the blink of an eye, his rear wheel was in the air and Bush flew high over the handlebars, landing on his back with the bike on top of him.

He lay motionless for a few moments. The reporter hoisted the bike off him just as medics arrived.

There were trees and a drop-off nearby and a road littered with rocks, but Bush was largely unscathed.

A reflector snapped off the bike and was left as a warning marker for next time. Bush straightened the handlebars, threw a leg over the bike and kept rolling.

"We've got thrills, spills -- you name it," he said.

Is this a surprise to anyone? That's what demagogues do. Zuniga, DU, Kathryn Cramer. They're all essentially the same. Ethics took a back seat to ideology with these people a long time ago.

At the end of the day, it won't matter. At a time when Kerry should be receiving a major bounce and moving well ahead in the polls, he's barely staying even. The lead that he had enjoyed is disappearing. Zuniga's blog will be a fun read on November 3, 2004.

Fifty bucks says it went down like this. Some democratic operative took Pussyboy aside and said, "You've got a great future with the DNC. Ever think of running for office?"

So, Pussyboy goes back to his lair, head swimming with thoughts of being the first blogger in Congress, and sets about deleting things that will embarass the "Screw 'em All: Zuniga for Congress" Campaign. Later, he'll claim that the screenshots and commentary are just fabrications of the VRWC.

His braindead followers will buy it, and the sycophantic media will never cover it.

41 Goldie  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 11:09:27am

One thing I have to bring up - and the rest of you probably remember this too - is that this "Kos" person did respond to all this criticism by admitting that he was actually horrified by what happened to those men, and that this was bluster to make himself feel better. (I'm not going to waste my time searching for the link, and it's probably hidden anyway).

A decent person never would've written or thought to write what he did in the first place, but apparently he isn't completely devoid of the sympathy that distinguishes man from beast.

I think a lot of these leftist nuts follow the same line of thinking. The truth is too painful, so they plop their heads into the sand, next the Euros' heads, and tell themselves, 'it's our fault,' etc. Anything is better to them than admitting that their cushy lives are in danger and they have no control over it.

#34 Jack Frost: Yeah, everyone here (yourself included) either kept silent or actually praised Charles during all the times he airbrushed his remarks from the world.

"If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen" or nail the door to the kitchen shut. Of course in this case, it's sorta like The Big Lebowski where he braces a chair against the door that opens the other way. Kos is another Howard Dean looking for a most public place to meltdown. Pity he's not as smart as Dean thought he was, then the puddle could be on network.

Thanks for posting the link! We thought of the same thing.

I guess I exaggerated in my own mind the extent of his contrition, though. Re-reading it, it's much lamer than I remembered. But I still think that what I said is true, even if he doesn't totally admit it. There's just no way an American can see that brutal scene and not feel horrified by it.

48 andthenblammo!  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 11:13:52am

I fear that leftys will just apply their new mantra to all embarrassing truths:

-Joseph Wilson melts down? "It's just a right-wing smear job".
-Sandy Berger socks docs in his sox? "It's just a right-wing smear job".
-Mikey Moore gets caught in umpteen lies? "It's just a right-wing smear job".
-Theresa Kerry gets caught lying about a videotaped statement? "It's just a right wing smear job".

You get the idea. To make it more impressive to the dull-minded, "My sources tell me...." can be added to the mantra. Presto! Content-free refutation!

I think it is high time to shove a bit of Orwell up Herr Zuniga's rectal cavity. Dear 'screw them' Zuniga, if and when you read this, please keep in mind, Orwell is directly addressing buffoons like YOU and your mindless sycophants.

"But there is a minority of intellectual pacifists, whose real though unacknowledged motive appears to be hatred of western democracy and admiration for totalitarianism. Pacifist propaganda usually boils down to saying that one side is as bad as the other, but if one looks closely at the writing of the younger intellectual pacifists, one finds that they do not by any means express impartial disapproval but are directed almost entirely against Britain and the United States …"

I think he left this on purpose. After all if the context is removed, this piece of saliva can stay.

It's the same device the media is using when trying to defend THK's gaffa. They only let her talk about the incident and her feelings, instead of showing the footage that speaks for itself and does not need any comments, other than to try covering up on THK's bitchy behavior and shameless lie on the record, of course.

You should take some pity on these poor lefties. They're sure they're right, but then the facts don't match up, and they wind up saying stupider and stupider things, and then having to rethink and delete them. How would you feel if your ideology led to conclusions such as that these brave contractors deserved to be brutally murdered by a gang of midieval savages? Think of the cognitive dissonance! Oh the humanity!

They'll learn eventually, I hope. Lots of us are awakened leftists.

"There's just no way an American can see that brutal scene and not feel horrified by it. "

We now know that if they suffer from "Bush Derangement Syndrome", even a father can watch his own son be killed by terrorists, and still feel only hatred for Bush.

Kos suffers from BDS. and we know his reaction to the deaths of those men showed that side of him. He is embarrassed that we got to see it.

I just wish Charles would STOP send him all that traffic!
Kos is the troll that need not register and still gets a rise out of Charles. Kos has admitted that he is rewarded (with traffic) when he is bad, and ignored when he is good.

57 Apathy Curve  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 11:23:54am

How perfectly typical of a modern Democrat. Such behavior is, sadly, quite in character for many current members of the party. It's amazing that in only fifty years they've gone from serious, respected leaders like Harry Truman to egotistical, center-ring clowns like John Kerry.

The problem is, there's not much space remaining under that rug that Zuniga just lifted to hide his dirt. It's getting rather lumpy, and there's a big, red-white-and-blue donkey printed on it. The Democratic party, it appears, is about done. I had strongly suspected such already, but this three-ring circus of a convention has finally convinced me of it. They're too fragmented, more a group of mutually-conflicting special interests than a focussed party. If a strong, charismatic leader can take control of the Libs or the Greens and stop the milk-squabbling, they'll soon have their best chance ever to become this nation's second major party. Even if neither of those existing parties can rise to the occasion, it's hardly a reprieve for the Democrats. I still only give them two more decades--at the outside--until they're replaced by a more coherent party.

The Democrats thought they were going to transform into the New Socialist Party, way back in the heady days of post-LBJ, but they've squandered any chance of it on argumentative hippies and naive pandering to the extremist left. That'll get you nowhere fast in an open-press republic-- just look at Al Gore. Somebody's time at the podium is up, and it's the Dim-O-crats.

Speaking of podiums, the DNC have spent 20 years keeping Jimmy Carter off the radar, for fear he'd draw fire like a B-52 over Moscow, and now they dust him off and prop his tired, ultra-liberal, loony old ass up in front of the whole world at a convention? Great Cham's beard! The man is widely considered the worst President in modern history, (I've even seen him directly compared to the likes of Neville Chamberlain), and they present him as their key speaker at the nomination?! Now you know they're desperate. Even worse for them, if they seriously believe that putting Hillary on the docket in '08 is their ace-in-the-hole, God-save-the-queen, hail-mary touchdown play, they're even more frightened and self-deluded than I thought. I'd say they can smell the blood on the guillotine.

#55 Goldie: A good post, really, one I can't fully address at the time. Kos isn't a 20-yr-old who doesn't have the experience and perspective for this sorta things. He's what, mid-thirties for goodness sakes. He's not a kid just parroting what he heard on campus, he knows damn well when he says things that aren't true and aren't fair, and has made his deal with the devil that he's gonna do it anyway. A kid who shoplifts I can forgive. A habitual bank robber? Not a chance.

I used to be somewhat a lib too myself in my younger days. But I didn't lie to others to try to sway them. That seems to be the core of the lib party and its activists these days, and its disgusting and its wrong. Well beyond the bounds of "political white lies" to be sure. Honestly, I'm through putting up this political, historical and intellectual corruption.

Charles - as light is to cockroaches. Never let up.

86 AngryDumbo  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 11:56:57am

There is good logic why Kerry/Edwards are stealth candidates. Chiming in from "flyover" country in Illinois. I can tell you that so-called moderates like Barak Obama, against partial birth abortion and stricter gun control laws, but still in favor of the nanny state are the future of the Democratic party. He was born in Hawaii but has found his "voice" on Chicago's south side. Forget Nancy Pelosi's, Barbara Boxers, "soccer moms" are so Semptember 10.

It is no coincidence that HRC has voted twice for the war and has not voted once against funding the war effort. She is even on record as late as July 13 of this year saying that she would vote to authorize the war in Iraq if the vote was today. Is HRC being "untruthful" about her motives for voting for the war?

Hereafter he should be referred to as Markos "Screw Them" Zuniga, and screen-captures taken before he hid his evidence should be regularly displayed.

88 NuclearTinkerbell  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 12:04:49pm

Here's an interesting take on the why it was removed.

In the last few days, there has been a lot of news about John Kerry's successful use of the internet for fund-raising. Who is Kerry's number one online fundraiser? Yup. The Daily Kos.

So far, John Kerry has done nothing to disassociate himself from Zuniga's hateful reaction to the Falluja massacre. For him to do so might be dangerous; the truth is that Zuniga's hateful extremism represents the mainstream of the Democratic Party. Certainly the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee are in no hurry to disassociate themselves from Zuniga's "screw them" sentiment.

Nifty pictures of Kos with democrat big guns, too.

Sycopant = A servile flatterer (Webster)

That'll be the f-cking day!!!!! With any of us!!!!!

We all admire Charles simply because he's intelligent, and has the balls to say what he says and do what he does. He also has some qualities in short supply these days: honesty and integrity.

So unless you can find a real good reason for calling us all sycophants, as defined, STFU!!!!

90 Charles  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 12:21:52pm

Nuclear Tinkerbell: some good points from the Cracker Barrel Philosopher. However, I must point out that John Kerry did try to distance himself from Zuniga when that foul comment was publicized -- Kerry removed the link to Daily Kos from his official web site, and published a statement denouncing Zuniga.

The statement is still there at Kerry's site, although they seem to have forgotten their desire not to be connected with Zuniga's nasty sentiments:

I searched the page and didn't find an apology. Just excuses. No where on the page does he apologise for what he said. Just a lame explaination of his "feelings".

The Communist airbrush artists are alive and well. They can surely eliminate any incriminating evidence of their acts. Heck, they can eliminate all evidence of their acts.

Which makes the work of those who catalogue and uncover the airbrush artists all the more relevant and necessary.

It's not just the airbrushes that are alive and well. The dhimmiLeft learned its whole "social warfare" tactics at the knees of Uncle Joe; the poor bastards can't help but fall into the rote pattern set for them and passed down from idealogue to idealogue. Just as the Soviets did, so do the current crop of Leftists. Not to mention their buddy Goebbels. Is that a hammer and sickle or a swastika on your arm, друзья?

And, about this wast of protoplasm - anyone find anything about him even being within 500 feet of a law school or Bar examination?

He can run but he'll just die tired.

Kos learned from the Great Stain Maker that apologies aren't required for Dems.

Ditto Richard Clarke

Ditto Joe Wilson

Ditto John Kerry - talking about Republicans

I was working - see how long it took me to answer? =)

Yes, you're right that "Kos" doesn't deserve the leeway of some undergrad idiot. He should've known better. The scariest part is that so many people, including many people I know and love, never seem to learn. No matter how the facts smack them in the face, they just look away. Really disturbing.

I abandoned leftism forever years ago, when I was laughed at by a Czech for trying to defend socialism ("as a concept, not the way it turns out," of course - I'm embarrassed I ever tried that line).

Zuniga's response:

"I never said it!

Shove it!

... right wing rag blog!"

99 brett  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 1:06:21pm

He's busy erasing comments, too. I posted once, and he erased it; I imgine he'll erase my second try. I have screenshots which I can send over tonight, Charles.

I've just been asking him to explain how he can care for soldiers shot in battle when he doesn't care about people getting burnt alive, hung from a bridge, and beated like pinattas in Fallujah.

100 lazytart  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 1:39:12pm

Zuniga rewriting history.

Heinz-Kerry rewriting history.

Kerry rewriting history.. Yes, it's the speech containing some of the info. culled from Sandy Hambergler's pants.

He even emptied the google cache.

**THIS IS DOWNRIGHT SCARY**.

88---Nuclear--interesting photos of Kos. But who is Jerome Armstrong? He is referred to as his partner.

102 CCR  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 2:12:34pm

It gets worse, technically Zuniga was advocating necrophilia.

and on that rather disturbing note I will leave analysing Kos to the shrinks.

103 NTropy  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 2:19:50pm

Anybody have links or pictures of the bridge atrocities? Or of the bodies being hanged? I can't seem to find them.

Beautiful. Gives me such warm fuzzies all over, I wonder if he can get a job at their new Dept. of Information and Peace. After all: If Kerry reads it, shouldn't you?

*shudder*

107 ballantrae  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 4:07:31pm

Excellent. Now we have the only comeback needed for anything Zuniga says.

Just reply "but what about the page where you said that 4 Americans should be screwed when they were murdered, burned and hung up like sacks of meat? For someone reason I can't seem to find it. I saw it a while ago, but suddenly it's not there. Please, where can I find it?"

That's all, or variations on the above theme. Nothing else is necessary.

Zuniga isn't Michael Moore. He isn't entertaining enough. Zuniga actually has to produce commentary which can be argued upon if he wants viewers. What I think Charles ought to do, is find someone with a copy of that page and permanently link it to the homepage of this site. That will effectively take the daily POS, uh... I mean KOS out of the game.

The LLL is positively Orwellian. Note also that now-thoroughly discredited Joe Wilson has taken down his "Restore Honesty" website and the URL now points directly to a sign-up for the Kerry-Edwards campaign. I figure they (the LLL) will write the events of 9/11 out of existence when pressure from the ROP becomes great enough. The ticket should be changed from John Kerry/John Edwards to John Kerry/Winston Smith. (See 1984.)

110 NuclearTinkerbell  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 4:19:48pm

#101 Big L

But who is Jerome Armstrong? He is referred to as his partner.

Don't really know. The About Kos page mentions Jerome Armstrong:

My latest project (with Jerome Armstrong) is OurCongress.org, a site tracking the nation's hottest races.

Jerome Armstrong is also mentioned in the April 2004 edition of Vanity Fair featuring a story about webblogs. I couldn't find a link, but have the actual magazine. In it, Jerome Armstrong is mentioned simply as 'his partner' as they, "..mapped out the online strategy of the Howard Dean campaign..."

I thought he was a life partner, but apparently Kos has spawned with his wife. There are pictures and everything.

111 Oxnardian  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 4:26:11pm
The worst thing you can do to a liberal is quote him accurately or cite his record truthfully. Proven time and time again.

So true, #13 Model4.

A local (L.A.) radio host puts it thusly (though he may have borrowed this from someone else):

Conservatives are afraid you won't know what they believe. Liberals are afraid you will know what they believe!

Even scummier behavior. What a shit.

Jack Burton (#70) I am sorry for your loss. May your grandfather always be for a blessed memory.

115 JonathanD  Tue, Jul 27, 2004 7:23:31pm

re #70, Jack Burton.

Sorry that your grand dad died today. I hope your knowing your grandad was a blessing to you. I only knew one of my grandparents, although I saw a photo of me as a baby on my mom's mum's lap, so that makes two. In time I hope your mind will be able to jump to a happier memory of your Kin and not first go through the resent memories first.

Regards and condolences,

JonathanD
