RetweetThe Intifada is in Its Death Throes

By: Charles Johnson • Aug 6, 2004 at 3:00 pm PDT

A leader of the West Bank Aksa Martyrs Brigades faces the truth: the intifada is over. Aksa leader: Intifada is in its death throes.

It’s not so much what Zakariya Zubeidi, the fugitive leader of the West Bank Aksa Martyrs Brigades, says, but how he says it. Zubeidi speaks in the vacant tones of a ghost.

And four years after he first picked up a rifle, this peace-activist-turned-local-hero-and-killer eulogized the Palestinian intifada in words similar to those in which he described himself.

“The intifada is in its death throes. These are the final stages — this I can confirm,” he said on Wednesday.

Now we can look forward to a big serving of hudna, taqiyya, and kitman. When a religion has two words for ""divine"" lying, and the media won't address it, one can understand how a backwards, brutal, and savage religion wins against superior forces.

If "all war is deception," Islam is always prepared and yearning for war.

How about getting this SOB for good measure.

"peace activist turned local hero and terrorist"

What a crock. He was never a peace activist. He was simply a terrorist from the start.

Take a look at his pic from the link. Holding the "mekootzar" (AR-15) with the exact scope (eyal) I used to pick off these morter-forkers.

I wonder where he got his firearms?

So pathetically hypocritical it burns my URL.

9 Jamie  Fri, Aug 6, 2004 1:09:18pm

And not a moment too soon. May the intifada rot in hell forever, though I'm reminded of that seething crackpot at the end of Evan Coyne Maloney's video from Rutgers, as he hyperventilates, screaming "Long live the Intifada!"

Didn't catch his name, but he survived 5 Israeli assassination attempts (allegedly) and walks around open-faced (no mask/scarf/whatever)

So, a little while down the road Arafat or some other nomme-de-guerre says to Kofi and other asshats "Of course we want peace. All we want is what was on the table under Clinton." Sharon says ...?

Not claiming to have an answer, but Israel had better have one.

Do NOT trust this bastard. Black September, the Black Panthers, the al-Aksa, the 2nd Intifada have one thing in common: they were started by Arafat. What he is saying is that Arafat must step down, i.e. he is supporting Dahlan. While getting rid of Arafat is a praiseworthy goal, Dahlan will be even worse for Israel - if only because he's smarter.

As soon as Europe understands Dahlan will kill more Jews than Arafat, they will withdraw support from Arafat and the intifada will collapse - and be replaced by something far worse.

It is a double-edged dagger," said Zubeidi contemplatively. "If we give up, then we live a life of humiliation. But to keep fighting – it only brings destruction.

That is quite a choice, "humiliation or destruction." I don't know why it bothers me so much not to hear the words "peace", "stability", "prosperity". He doesn't seem to be interested in any of that. What kind of hope is there for this situation?

24 zulubaby  Fri, Aug 6, 2004 1:19:34pm

Jinnderella,

No, the fence is solely designed to humiliate jordyptians, uproot holy olive groves, and force innocent schoolchildren to walk around and extra mile to school.

I'm sure the intifada is failing because we in the West have been insufficiently sensitive to root causes, and we have failed to funnel enough money to keep Suha in the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed.

31 ferris  Fri, Aug 6, 2004 1:21:11pm

NO! The Intifada is just getting good. The Israelis are safe behind the wall and now only terrorist scum are dying.

This is the good part.

Long Live the Intifada!

32 EPW  Fri, Aug 6, 2004 1:22:49pm

The intifada ain't gonna' die until its Syrian, Iranian, and Saudi paymasters get whacked. The palestinians have pretty much lost everything because of their own stupidity in stoking the fires of their little death cult. Intifada's all they have now.

That and smacking their own heads and chests during car swarms and funerals.

I'll be very interested in observing the introduction of Dahlan in the broad Western media. If the Left is incapable of describing Arafat for what he is - what will they invent to install Dahlan's reputation? The reasoning might become even more detached from reality. Maybe the building of lies will then collapse of overstretch.

How about getting this SOB for good measure.

"peace activist turned local hero and terrorist"

What a crock. He was never a peace activist. He was simply a terrorist from the start.

Of course he was terrorist from the start, but there is no contradiction IMO. After all "peace activists" placed themselves firmly on the side of the terrorists and declared repeatedly that they "understand", read - justify" the Arab terrorists' motives. So there is very little distance between terrorist appologiser and terrorist, if any. Even among the terrorists themselves only a small portion are actual murderer of innocents, the rest are providing help and support. "Peace actvists" who take side in the conflict, i.e. agree that only one side is justified to war (inherent absurdity of the all "peace" movements), belong firmly in the ranks of the cause they support.

that reminds me of something...

"Chewbacca is a wookie from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about that; that does not make sense. Why would a wookie, an 8 foot tall wookie, want to live on Endor with a bunch of two foot tall ewoks? That does not make sense! But more importantly, you have to ask yourself, ‘what does that have to do with this case?' Nothing. Ladies and Gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case. It does not make sense! If that does not make sense then you must acquit."

Yes. But only if you are sincere about atoning for the sin you have not yet committed. Boggles the mind, eh?

Technically, no. Bummer.

To facilitate explanation, it may be well to state what an indulgence is not. It is not a permission to commit sin, nor a pardon of future sin; neither could be granted by any power.

It should be noted that part of the reason the RCC includes this information is because the rules for indulgences were not exactly crystal clear when they sold them.

Pakistan Qaeda suspect named during e-mail sting

ISLAMABAD, Aug 6 (Reuters) - U.S. officials revealed the name of captured al Qaeda suspect Mohammad Naeem Noor Khan while he was still cooperating with Pakistani authorities, a Pakistani intelligence source told Reuters on Friday.

Khan e-mailed comrades on Sunday and Monday as part of an ongoing Pakistani sting operation against Osama bin Laden's network, the source said.

But his name appeared in the New York Times on Monday following anonymous briefings, raising suggestions the U.S. officials' disclosure could have jeopardised the sting.

Israel must keep up the offensive and drive them all back into Jordan & Egypt and NEVER EVER give them a chance to regroup- as Arnie says'they'll be back'- you better believe.
They are wounded and bleeding so feign dhimmitude but it is just another ploy so that they can worm their way back and under Israels skin.

IIRC it was Michel Sabah, no? the same guy who was involved in downplaying the Nativity church fiasco.

Irineos is the patriarch who is still wanted for questioning by the greek police, suspected for corruption during his previous post as the metropolit of Athens.
Israel tried to prevent his appointment but failed.
An Israeli right wing newspaper "Makor Rishon" acquired a personal letter from him to Arafat describing the jews a filthy christ murderers or something.

You are correct, but those people you mention only have the positions they do because the majority of the scottish population is wacked out on heroin.

What a disgusting anti-semite.

If he's wanted by the Greek police, why don't they arrest him? Where is he now? Is he still part of the church?

That's why I'm going to the US in October for my summer(ish) hols. I'd rather travel half way around the world, than go to Spain, France, Germany and co. They don't deserve my tourist pounds.

RE: Dahlan vs. Arafat

I think we ought to remember that Dahlans strength outside of the Gaza strip is next to nothing.
There is also the condecending approach of Gazan palestinians twards West Bank palestinians that has to be addressed - those fools even beat one another in Israeli prisons!.
No one can ascend to a symbol level as Arafat has, even though Arafat embezzels money he does not use it personally for luxuries, unlike Dahlan. I would go so far to say that no one can succeed Arafat, he has conditioned palestinian politics this way.
While the west loves Dahlan and funds his goon militia, not to mention the infatuation of Israeli politicians with "the man" of the Gaza strip, I think he is too cockey and too much of a wimp to get to power.
Don't eulogize Arafat politically just yet. He's got enough money stashed in the bank to buy out any opponent for his entire lifetime. And he will not become a puppet president or give up an ounce of control.

As for Dahlans terrorism involvement, an IDF raid on his headquarters (can't remember how far back) confiscated a great deal of documents proving his work in the field.

The quote you referred to is probably the right one, I wasn't sure of the actual words.
Irineos is still the patriarch here. He was appointed in a dirty political manoeuver involving the church, the PA, elements within the Israeli gov't, big businessmen and so on.
In plain words, "the fish stinks from the head" as we say here.
I guess either Greek police didn't have enough evidence to ask for an extradition warrant from the Interpol, or , what is more likely, the same corrupt people who got him elected got him an inofficial immunity.
The church owns a lot of desired land in Israel, in particular in Jerusalem, which accounts for its huge political power.

OT:

Just watching a history of Mosley and the British Union of Fascists, and I am struck by some disturbing parallels to today's events. A violently anti-Semetic, fascistic group, and with foreign financing, plots to overthrough the democratic government of England. Surprisingly, (or not) many Labour Party members join Mosely's blackshirts...funny how history replays itself.

Maybe I'm in a pessimistic frame of mind, but I think things will get worse, much worse, before they get better. This week I read an article by an American academic, (of Middle Eastern studies, 'natch) saying now is the time for a Hudna with the Islamists. I predict that sometime soon there will be a major terrorist attack in Europe. The left will align itself with the Islamists and demand submission to the terrorists.

Deals will be made.
Money will be paid.
Governments will fall.

Outsider,

The orthodox church also holds huge poltical power in Greece. And with Archbishop Christodoulos, the last few years, it has really promoted anti-semitism in Greece.

I've posted this before, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating myself, but when the EU dropped the religion from the ID cards and Greece had to do the same, the church organized demonstrations against this rule and priests went on tv accusing the Jews of being behind this.

There's also a popular group of priests (rock-music playing priests, lol) Father Nectarios, I think, who promotes really vile anti-semitic propaganda.

I read somewhere (I'll go find the link if you need me, lol) that he has said in interviews that Israel wants to take Crete, lol.

Maine's Michael and I though, have already decided how we're going to split Crete between us, so if you're interested, talk to him about it.

134 Fuad Al'Razi  Fri, Aug 6, 2004 4:33:48pm

As a person with Moroccan and Turkish ancestry, I can tell you that most Palestinians realize that the idea of a "Palestinian State" is nothing more than an immature and impossible dream. They recognize that Palestinians are not really Palestinians, but part of the "greater" Pan-Arab identity.

In short, there is no such thing as a "Palestinian". There is no such thing as "Palestine". There never was.
It was a name imposed on Israel by the Romans. It became a Roman province governed by Coponius (procurator) with the power of life and death over all the inhabitants.

As the Palestinian National Charter (1964), which is available on-line, clearly states that the creation of "Palestinians" is simply a method for the armed struggle and the eradication of the State of Israel. In essence, the Palestinian identity is a new definition of Pan-Arabism.

It is no surprise, given the false premises that the Palestinian identity is based, that the intifada launched by Arafat is collapsing.

Best Regards,
Fuad Al'Razi

The only thing is...we've seen them quiet down and then flare back up, I expect a 'new' leader to emerge...sign a treaty...build up arms...and attack again.

Only thing I did hear about was that a Greek Orthdox Priest (Bishop?) in Jerusalem was arrested for some kind of helping the Pals...Collusion with Pals...
Two? ..three? years ago. Didnt hear much about the outcome after the arrest, HOWEVER DID HEAR that there is some "helping the Pals" inside of SOME International Organizations and RELIGIOUS Organizations right inside of Israel. Israel wants to take care of the "problem" and at the same time NOT do it out in the open. Israel wants to be careful NOT to insult people of faith but must...take care of this long standing problem.

I think its a MISTAKE to keep all this UNDER THE RADAR...Israel should stop tippy toeing around the PROBLEM. Come to Israel if you want to...but you get THROWN OUT or ARRESTED if you are there to HELP the Arabs DESTROY Jews. Does this CRAP never stop?
---

Seems to me that as I read what some of you report going on around the World in all sorts of Countries..I see some kind of PROGROM against Jews (attack on Jews sanctioned and enouraged by the Powers that be--Specific Govnts and International Entities) starting up and GROWING...BIG TIME. I dont like the sound and smell of this A...TALLL!!!

Do you have a source for that? I googled lots of pages depicting him as a "nice guy" who "cracks down" on "Islamists".

here's something on Mohammed Dahlan:

...the media's inexplicable romance with Muhammad Dahlan, the new Palestinian minister for state security.

The New York Times this week labeled Dahlan the "Palestinian security ace," as though he were a beloved hero from an action film.

The Miami Herald called him a "moderate," while the Associated Press said he was "urbane" and "carefully coifed."

What the guardians of the public's right to know neglected to mention is that Dahlan has a nasty habit of trying to blow up schoolbuses full of Jewish children. On at least three separate occasions in the past six years Dahlan has reportedly been linked to such attacks.

His first attempt came on April 1, 1997, when Palestinian suicide bombers blew themselves up outside Netzarim and Kfar Darom in Gaza in an attempt to hit two Israeli schoolbuses packed full of students. In both cases, miraculously, no Israelis were hurt.

The chief of general staff at the time, Lt.-Gen. Amnon Lipkin-Shahak, said the bombers were wearing Palestinian police uniforms and that at least one, and possibly both, belonged to Dahlan's Palestinian Preventive Security Service (The Jerusalem Post, April 2, 1997).

Undeterred by his first failed attempt to kill Jewish kids, the "moderate" and "urbane" Dahlan tried again. On October 18, 2000, a busload of 40 Israeli women and children was attacked by gunfire and a bomb west of the Gush Katif junction in Gaza as it passed near a Palestinian police station. In this attack, too, no one was injured, but it was certainly not for lack of trying.

Two days later, Israeli intelligence concluded that Dahlan himself was behind the assault (Israel Radio, October 20, 2000).

Less than a month later, though, Dahlan finally got his wish when, at last, an Israeli schoolbus was consumed by flames. On November 20, 2000, a roadside bomb outside Kfar Darom blew up as a schoolbus drove by. Two adults on the bus were killed, and nine other Israelis were injured, including five children.

Among them were Tehilla, Yisrael and Orit Cohen, three beautiful young people who each had to have limbs amputated as a result of the blast.

Within days, Israeli intelligence had cracked the case and the trail once again led straight back to Dahlan. His second-in-command, Rashid Abu Shabak, is said to have personally supervised the preparation of the bomb, and other people under him were also involved in the planning and implementation of the attack (Ha'aretz, November 23, 2000).

Zork: Its so important for Jews in America to talk with Jews in other parts of the world. That we COULDNT do in the run up to WW2..Well at least we couldnt talk AS MUCH and gain AS MUCH information as we are doing now. I hope that will make a diff..in the outcome..Add to that, that we find "friends" and like minded (in values) people from around the world to talk with as well. Mabye THAT will make the difference. Its a big difference having to sit alone in our own Communities ..to what we find now..using the Internet and speaking one with the other..And sometimes getting A type of Protest Action going ...

The Orthdox Priest IM talking about was arrested a couple years ago (in the 90s)..not in 1974 (Insomniac says it is in 1974). Least I **thought thats what I read or heard. They burried that story so fast..like ROAD RUNNER fast...thats how fast they got rid of that story.;;;. Maybe I got it wrong. Came and went so fast. This was a relatively RECENT story ... Sooo...now Im not sure...

Anyone know anymore?
