-RetweetGlobe Reporter Stars in Kerry Film

Thu, Sep 16, 2004 at 7:19:32 am PDT

Remember Michael Kranish, the Boston Globe reporter who is one of the Kerry campaign’s prime boosters in the media, and whose name mysteriously disappeared from the official Kerry campaign book sometime during the publication process?

Well, look who’s starring in a new film about John Kerry’s Vietnam service: Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry.

That's just perfect.

Um, I'm shocked?

The cover of impartiality is being peeled back slowly but surely.

Early 21st century is going to be very, very interesting.

It's time for another one of those great Wall Street Journal organizational charts of who's who in the symbiotic Democrat-MSM-LLL love machine.

We've got our own Evil Empire right here in River City.

Can't wait for the sequel:

Up The Creek: The Long Candidacy Of John Kerry

7 Free Speech Is Only For über-Libs  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:27:01am

How mush bullshit can the left dish out?

It's seems unliminted.

8 Frank IBC  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:28:22am

"Upriver"???

As in "Sing Sing"?

Did you know that the State Department added Saudi Arabia to the list of nations that practice religious oppression against its citizens? No? Well, it's true.

In Saudi Arabia, the government rigidly mandates religious conformity. Non-Wahabi, Sunni, Sunni Muslims, as well as Shia and Sufi Muslims, face discrimination and sometimes severe restrictions on the practice of their faith. A number of leaders from these traditions have been arrested and imprisoned. The government prohibits public non-Muslim religious activities. Non-Muslim worshippers risk arrest, imprisonment or deportation for engaging in religious activities that attract official attention. There were frequent instances in which mosque preachers, whose salaries are paid for by the government, used violent language against non-Sunni Muslims and other religions in their sermons.

Now, it is true that SA was added for the wrong reason:

But the sort of issues, which concerned us most, frankly, had to do with the treatment of Muslims in Saudi Arabia.

So the question is - why does the State Dept place the safety of moslems above the safety of every other religious group in SA? What about the fact that Jews aren't even allowed to enter the country?

State, you did the right thing, but for very wrong reasons.

"LONG" War?

What, the three months, where he got out after getting his third scratch?

Egads, what is it with the media's obsession with this loser? Why are they tryng so hard to glorify his mediocrity?

What's next? 10 story banners with Kerry's face looking up and to the left, as the glorious workers of Amerika toil to make a better world?

11 chris_l  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:29:29am

The Globe didn't believe Elliot's signed affidavit that Kranish missued his words but they believed Dan Rather's documents.

12 Frank IBC  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:29:41am

Sandy P -

We live in exciting times.

As others have said, this election would have been completely, totally, unrecognizably different were this just twelve years ago.

13 JohnAnnArbor  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:33:46am

Charles, you forgot to put the word "reporter" in quotes.

14 Lyana  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:35:12am

Media bias? SHOCKING! Does the press know? But then again, I thought they were all in bed with Chimpy covering for BushChaneyHaliburtonIn-it-for-the-oilAWOLHitler at the behest of the occasionally materializing evil-genius Rove.

At least that's what I heard on DU that Kitty said Mikey told her...

15 Rednek  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:38:22am

This looks like it will likely be a Fake but "Accurate" account of Kerry's "long" war.

anyone who talks about his service has got to be a fraud. how many vets do you know who willingly talk about their service in the military as much as JFK?

19 AmericanInSweden  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:43:32am

I heard an amazing comment while in Amsterdam last week...first comment I EVER heard that was in support of Bush:

The worst thing that America could do would be to elect John Kerry. Now I dont like George Bush, and I hate the war in Iraq, but electing Kerry would be a win for the terrorists.

Granted its not the most enthusiastic support...but it works. many other people at the bar agreed wholeheartedly. They took time to say that Bush was bad...but also made the point that Kerry was worse.

As an unusual Bit of Irony. I'm a Card Carrying member of the DNC.

I'm not a Liberal... I've just studied enough viruses to know that the best way is Death From Within.

Ahhh the Globe.

They all must think that they are Lou Grant's disciples crusading for the greater glory of the oppressed masses.

After sending an e-mail to one Globe reporter complaining that their use of the term "undocumented worker" obfuscated the fact that they were here illegally, I was told that undocumented worker was the globes "style" and that even if his story was slanted at least it prodded me to action.

Whatever happened to reporting who, when, and where.

As much as it pains me to give those commies my money, it's a small price to pay to know thy enemy.

God help us.

22 Geepers  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:52:08am

Hey check it out. Our old friend RedKen posted a comment on the movie:

We know Bush has no problem with fiction. WMD's, 45 minutes Nuclear Threat, Al Queda ties to Saddam, Roses in Iraq, Never Met Ken Lay. Clear Air act.

Cogent, coherent and clearly convincing as always.

#20--

I have a friend who's a registered Democrat just so that he can vote for the weakest candidate in primaries.

24 sharona  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 5:53:05am

For the life of me, I do not understand Boston and its' media personalities (and I have deliberately used a term other than "journalist" for I do not believe they are reporters so much as PR hacks). Sorry in advance for this crass expression, but it seems to be the only one that fits: they regularly blow J Effin' K, JFK and his proxy, Ted Kennedy. It's amoral.

25 Geepers  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 6:04:07am

Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry.

They're already working on the sequel:

Upstream Without a Paddle: The Swift Decline of John Kerry.

26 Dar ul Harb  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 6:07:34am

Kerry's on camera re-creations of his Vietnam exploits were fake and accurate.

27 gbl  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 6:20:04am

Plot Outline: A documentary on Senator John Kerry's Navy tour of duty in Vietnam (Please, NOT again!), his contributions to the peace movement that followed (who's words were used against POWs), and the ultimate shape of his future political career (What Career???).

Better butter up the popcorn folks -- this will surely be a blockbuster night!

28 Asylum Aleikum  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 6:30:00am

If you count years Kerry spent selling Vietnam vets down the river, it was a long war indeed.

29 Freelance  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 6:30:34am

Frontpage Mag has an interesting story about Teresa Heinz and her support of radical Left Wing groups.

57 Varieties of Radical Causes, Part 1

I wonder if any of the big players will pick up the story, or iif it is destined to be only read and discussed by pyjama wearing neanderthals?

Alas, to use the term "illegal" obfuscates the fact that the immigants are "undocumented".

Unless, of course, they have either an illegally obtained SSA card, a LEGALLY obtained driver's license in many states, or the grandest of all credentials, the matricula matria.

Should see the size (and facial hair) of some of the "eleven" year old children against whom my kid plays soccer. The State require documentation of age, but if no birth certificate is available, parent's statement is allowed. Freddie Adu, anyone?

Ted Turner, while running the TBS/Turner/CNN Empire had a list of forbidden words and phrases with accompanying PC substitutes.

I wanted to thank you for posting the educational links I am sure many of the new readers at LGF will find of great learning quality. Please keep up the good work.

I read The Boston Globe online -- it's free. An even smaller price to pay to know thy enemy.

Go Sox.

I don't think you get all the same stories on line. And in the word of HJS-"I like stories"

GO SOX! Indeed

34 Sol Roth  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 8:26:55am

This is beyond pathetic. This is not even up to the pathetic standard of Joseph Goebbels, oops, I mean Michael Moor.

It's like the meme of Collectivism has in a built-in stupification mechanism that turns off critical thinking and rewards limbic thought.

On the bright side, it's these moronic maneuvers that demonstrate the bankruptcy of the Left's ideology.

35 Carridine  Thu, Sep 16, 2004 6:34:31pm

Bankruptcy? Of the Left?

Sir, you are simply changing the subject because you know you're wrong when you read these, THESE actual, real, valid, honest (even though fake) DOCUMENTS we created last night, documents from 1973, which prove that you are a lying imposter, Sir!

You hold me in contempt, Sir, because YOU cling to an outmoded notion of Truth, which shows your own crippled inability to deal with the nuances of today's untrue, unreal reality. No amount of double-talk will serve to reintroduce Truth to today's political debates.

Even as you try, you vile beast, you show yourself to be crippled by your naive desire to be "fair" or "honest" or "just". What a boob you show yourself to be, longing after long-disproven concepts of decency, human-rights and justice.

Admit it, the Left has some attractive ideas, don't we?

You see, when I was a kid I used to save up for a month, so I could get an R&B album and, the same day, the completed works of Anton Webern. Maybe that means something. Maybe that tells you something about my music. -- Excerpt from the book "Rock and Other Four Letter Words", copyright 1968.
