Micheal Moore is not fit to sleep with the pigs...oh well, on second thought...

Micheal Moore is not fit to sleep with the pigs

Well, maybe those pigs from the movie Hannibal.

(Oh, no! I made a vague satirical "death threat" against Michael Moore! Gordo is going to flame me! I don't give a sh*t!")

6 mbruce  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:29:39am

Whittle nails it once again.I have to take exception, however, with the fact that Gary Oldman is a great actor and a conseervative/

7 paxnhymn  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:29:45am

I love that line, ...and the other three are Michael Moore! LOL! It is so ironic that the LLL always carry the banner of sharing, touchy-feely, and "conserve! Save the environment" and their poster child is an obvious glutton...

wait...I hear Cartman..."He's not Fat! He's just big-boned!"

8 Raven1  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:29:49am

M Moore has benn B Whittled!

9 AmericanGirl  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:34:48am

Fantastic piece.
May I be the first to suggest a Martin Sheen/Sean Penn ticket for the dems in '08?

And the Oscar for best editing in a feature film goes to...

Michael Moore and Farenheit 911.

#3 I agree, and judging by the perp's name he ain't no citizen of the US!

Kuddos to that prostitute for doing the right thing BTW. Think it was pretty cool of her to step forward and admit a crime to report an even worse one.

As to the perv...let him loose in the general population of any prison...he won't last long and it will save us taxpayers a great deal of money.

12 Smitty  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:43:45am

Man, Bill does it best. Great stuff Bill!

13 doppelganglander  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:47:20am

#3 and #11: Five bucks says that prostitute was a victim of sexual abuse herself as a child. Statistically, it's highly likely. Maybe this will be an opportunity for her to turn her life around. And I hope someone in prison does to that slimeball what he did to those poor kids.

14 Lewis  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:48:05am

Has anyone here read "Silent America"?

I'm strongly considering buying it.

15 John B  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:48:33am

This a great article - everyone here should read it.

Regarding something Whittle said: ..." Which tends to confirm a theory of mine, which is that people who are really terrific actors are some of the most boring, colorless, hollow people you would ever be unfortunate enough to meet. I have met a few, and by and large they are simply empty vessels into which better, brighter people – the scientific term for them is writers – pour intelligence, wit, courage and character."

Everyone would do well to remember something Alfred Hitchcock reportedly said when asked why he treated his actors like children. Hitch stated (to paraphrase him) "because like children, they live in a land of make believe. What else can you expect?"

I heard that quotation many years ago - it still resonates and explains much of Hollywood behaviour.

16 Ringo the Gringo  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:48:43am

I'll make a point of buying Bill Whittle's book this weekend.

Gary Oldman is brilliant! And I was so happy to learn that he's a conservative. One of the few sane people in Hollycrap.

18 Dave the.....  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:53:17am
Jon Stewart can mock Tommy Franks and Paul Bremer and George Bush because he, like Michael Moore, has the luxury of not having to come up with something better. He does not have to make a gas station profitable, he doesn’t have to run a farm. He certainly never has to face the messy uncertainty and compromise and setbacks that an aircraft designer, say, or even a football coach has to deal with. And I dare say that he and Alec and Susan and Barbra and Sean would grind to a smoking, screeching mental halt if they had to confront the kind of responsibility, uncertainty, and just plain risk that our men and women in the military face each and every day. All Jon Stewart has to do is sit there, look into the camera, and say something that he or someone else has usually had hours or days to think of.

Best writing I've seen for a while.

Of course, Ronald Reagan was a Democrat in the 1950s, and only turned Republican when he realized the Democrat Party was going soft on communism.

20 Lewis  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 7:54:47am

Let's not bash actors too much, okay? I've got in-laws who are actors, though they're not famous. Actually, some of may have seen my brother-in-law - he's the guy with the speaking part in the goofy "Stripping Party" hair care commercial (can't remember the exact product name or brand, sorry)

I don't think either of'em are voting for any Republican anytime soon, however.

And I hope someone in prison does to that slimeball what he did to those poor kids.

Not to defend that slimeball -- he's a sick bastard regardless -- but it was unclear if he was a participant in those acts or just had videos of somebody else doing it on his pc.

Either way, though, he should be declared a non-numan and used in medical and/or product testing experiments... why drip shampoo into a rabbit's eyes to test it when we can use him instead?

22 Red Fish  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 8:01:46am

Ah, if ONLY MM would be a 'moment'...
He seems to on and on and on. He is charming and witty when you hear him and he really is quite funny. It's just when you listen to what he says that your stomach begins to churn.
BW is terriffic!

MM...go AWAY!

23 Death Before Dhimmitude  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 8:04:44am
(Note to Terry McAuliffe: Please, please don’t throw a Martin Sheen / Ben Affleck ticket at us Jesuslanders! We’d be defenseless! Our celebrilicious genes would take over and we’d be paralyzed to resist! The election would go Dem in a cakewalk! Dear God, Terry – anything but that!)

Celebrilicious Genes would be a great name for a rock band!

Here's hoping people like Ben Asshat and the rest of his ilk keep running their fat, stupid, immature, morally bankrupt, overpaid mouths. This could do for hollywood what the strike-cancelled world series, $150 million contracts, and the steroid abuse have done for baseball - make it something people used to care about.

24 redstateredneck  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 8:09:11am

What a great article. I've bookmarked it to send to my sister-in-law the next time she starts rhapsodising about how wonderful Michael Moore is and how "Fahrenheit 911 should be required viewing for all high school seniors..."

25 Targetpractice, Worst of Both Worlds  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 8:13:31am

Let's see...The Dems think they need to run someone even more liberal next election...and MM says they should be running actors for President...I'd say they're both in agreement. Outside of the MSM, Hollywood has some of the most socialist, anti-American, eco-friendly people alive amongst its ranks. Seems only appropriate that they try running one of their own in the next election.

After all, why try to run successful business men, war veterans (true, Dubya isn't a "war hero," but he did serve his country during a war), and self-made men, the kind of people usually the most patriotic and therefore against the Left's guiding principles, when you can run spoiled brats (not all actors, just the "elite"), blood-sucking lawyers, and anti-war wackos?

In the end, if there's one actor I'd vote for to serve as president, it'd be R. Lee Ermey.

26 TMF  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 8:14:00am

That was brilliant- or damn near close.

Funny, poignant and completely true.

Thanks for posting that. I like that guy!

#3 ontevreden -

Perhaps my favorite part of that story (from my another-day-closer-to-armageddon perspective) is that, as a Floridian, my taxes are going to pay for his courtroom representation.

But God forbid my taxes go to a faith-based charity or for a religious school voucher. Those would somehow sully them.

When a government sets itself up as the enemy of Heaven it is doomed to the Pit.

29 Terrye  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 8:20:52am

If Moore wins an Oscar this year I will boycott movies.

I do agree with Whittle. It is easy to sit back on your ass and btich at what other people do when it is not sweat off your ass.

Actors and paid consultants.

30 Bob with one O  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 8:37:14am

Lewis,

Go to Ejectejecteject.com. On the right side you'll find the original versions of the essays in the book. The man will get you motivated.

31 rightasrain  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 8:42:16am

Moore said (prior to the election) that his best 'Oscar Win' would come on November 2nd when Bush was defeated.

He really thought he had singlehandedly changed the course of American history with his lying movie.

He, of course, also lathered on the fake humility (as in 'Oh, I just played a very small part in defeating Bush...')

Then he also had the fake sympathy letters to Bush ('I feel so sorry for you right now since you're about to lose.')

This guy is a disgusting pig (and this has nothing to do with his looks.) If he were the handsomest guy in the world, he would still be a disgusting pig.

I really despise Hollywood (except for the nice guys like Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Ron Silver, Arnold S., and a few others.)

Wasn't Ron Silver the one who, after Clinton was elected and their was a USAF flyover (IIRC) looked up and said (paraphrasing) "Their ours now" about hte planes? IIRC, he was quite leftist until 9/11, then he saw the light...

33 Bob with one O  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 9:00:17am

rightasrain,

I don't listen to W for his singing ability and I sure as anything don't listen to Hollywood for anything of importance.

34 TMF  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 9:32:47am

I just read some more of Whittles stuff.

Im buying the book. Im a fanatic of great essays- very hard to do well.

This guy is a post 9-11 Mencken. Fantastic.

Oh really? I don't remember the story about the planes.

He is definitely on the good side now. I saw him in an interview on Fox, I believe, where he explained how anti-social the Hollywood types become towards someone like him who doesn't support their Bush-bashing, etc.

Of course, he also spoke at the Republican National Convention.

He's definitely a good guy!

I believe it was Ron Silver. He had a Geraldo-like conversion after 9/11 but, IIRC, he was pretty lefty in the 90s... Glad to have him in a clear-thinking, eyes-wide-open mode now...

Anybody else remember him as a lefty?

Do not mention Michael Moore and pigs in the same sentence!

...the pigs deserve better.

43 hunter888  Fri, Jan 7, 2005 11:00:02am

I remember the plane incident as being at the first Clinton inauguration, when the Air Force planes did their customary flyover, Ron Silver was angry and said something to the effect of "Why do they have to ruin the day?". At that point, someone else (I can't recall who) pointed out ot HIM, "Take it easy, Ron, those are OUR planes now."

Am I wrong?

Focus on the Family sent this address several months ago in a daily newsletter (Citizenlink).
