-RetweetDemocratic Underground Wants Blood

Sat, Apr 2, 2005 at 3:13:57 pm PST

The inmates of Democratic Underground mark the pope’s passing in their inimitable fashion, by hoping the President will be next: The psychics were right about the Pope & hopefully will b right about Bush. (Hat tip: NC.)

These people really are sick.

UPDATE at 4/2/05 4:24:08 pm:

Democratic Underground, of course, is a Google News source. Apparently, wishing for the death of the President (and this is far from the first thread at DU where this has happened) doesn’t qualify as “hate speech” to Google News.

Well, the President won't be next but Prince Ranier of Monaco may be. He's really ill and all his powers have been passed over to his son earlier this week. I wish them an easy end--it gets hard enough to get up and going some days without suffering needlessly.

4 BabbaZee  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 1:16:52pm

I dont think they're sick. I think they need an exorcism.

Seems that they're just speedily degenerating back to kindergarten grade gullibility.. I need to become a "psychic modern artist" so I can drain the funds out of these people..

I had the same prediction when I saw the news on the Pope's health, it's kind of obvious to anyone with even a baseline knowledge of medicine..

I heard the prediction that Bush wouldn't be president by the fall and took that to mean that we finally get fed up with the UN and convey upon W the title of "Earth's Overlord"

Do you think the DUmmies would approve?

I love this dork's "praying for Sens. Kerry and Edwards" to "impeach Hitler" while "the scandals keep unfolding..."

Would that be the Plame scandal? No, it's dead.

Would it be the "Bush lied" scandal? No, that was put to rest by the Dodd report.

Would that be the Wolfowitz scandal? No, he was confirmed, and by the EU too, despite all their ravings.

Would that be the Hillary fundraising scandal and indictment?

or maybe the Sandy Berger scandal? No, those are Democratic scandals.

Maybe he means the "Birkenstock Scandal!" That scandal is indeed a major one, and is unraveling even as we speak!

Oh, sorry, I thought he said "sandals."

Dang, I posted back when they did the tracheostomy something to the effect that I didn't expect that it would be very long.

I think I'll start charging for my services. I'm going to start predicting to rude employees that I forsee unemployment in their future. I'm going to start predicting to gamblers that I forsee a financial crisis coming. I'm going to predict to those playin' around outside their marriage that I forsee a divorce. (So, that should make me darn near 100% for predictions coming true.)

Nice that you are ready fopr them, but I am sick of hearing this Canada promise. Over and over are these announcements of the mass exodus to the northern neighbor (and why is it always Canada and not Mexico? If the libs started promising to move south, there might be border patrols on both sides of the Rio Grande) but then, nothing. Why must they constantly tease us with the "I'm moving to Canada" line and then never carry through with it? Life heare would be so much niocer if there really was a moonbat migration.

Hey, I picked up a local Indian newspaper yesterday. There was a story by well known Native American Jim Northrup who went down to Whitewater to hear Churchill speak last month. I expected him to be supportive. Very happy to say real Indians have no time for the fake one.

"I wanted to meet this self-proclaimed Cherokee. Instead we went back to the motel and talked about culture-vultures and wannabees in general and Churchill in particular."

For the record, Northrup is a real Vietnam vet, like many Indians.

Miss Cleo's in the can and Dionne Warwick's psychic friend's network has been out of business for a decade. If they're such food psychics, how come they didn't see that coming?

You want some ESP on the part of this die-hard Red Sox fan, you can always go back to my prediciton of "Ah- Francona's just dropping the first 3 games against the Yanks to make the series more interesting" in Oct. of 2004. OR you could track down my comments on the French W(h)ine or John-Paul passes thread on how the DUers would take unmitigated glee in this. Their time will come to meet their maker, and God will likely show them mercy as well, even though they deny it to the unborn and to the incapacitated but fight like crazed terrorists to give it to convicted murderers and rapists on death row.

In my humble human assesment, however, many members of the Dhimmitudic Underground are the lowest pusilanamous pieces of dogshit on earth. I hope their site, LGFWatch or some other similar moonbat cave prints this post in its entirety and laughs their soulless, vacant laughter.

I suppose its all they can do after being walloped in the ballot box, in the neo-media, in the factual course of world events, in the arena of viable ideas and in their quest to lessen and lay low the states of America and Israel. I'd laugh at myself too after a string of such catastrophic failures.

Moonbats = hypocritical contradictory pieces of intellectually devoid crap. Put that in your collective water-pipes and smoke it.

Even though I'm Christian I do have the gifts of empathy and I have had a few flashes and dreams.

What happened to materialist communism that kept us worried for half a century with their nuclear program?

65 Ex_dem  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 2:01:48pm

My favorite post was this one:

I am a hypnotherapist and have placed many people into past lives through hypnosis. A lot of these people didnt believe in past lives but nonetheless it works everytime. Anyway, I have read a few times that people were able to be progressed into future lives but I really thought to much about it since I personally believe the future is not set in stone. Amazingly enough though I have done it with at least five different people and they all say the same things (such as marijuana being legal, what television is like, etc).

So one night I was laying in bed with a girl a recently started seeing and I thought it would interesting to try to progress her into a future life. After giving her instructions and suggestions she immediately found herself as a 19 year old male (she is 38 now) living in New York. She wasnt sure about the year so I asked her if the WTC was there. She said the WTC had been destroyed many years ago and there was now an impressive memorial there now. Then I asked if there was anything else destroyed by terrorists. She then said something like "a lot of New York was destroyed, you already know that". She went on to tell me that terrorists hit quite a few major cities all at the same time, she called them 'the simultaneous attacks'. She said millions of people were killed and about 25% of the population moved to different countries afterwards. The attacks were done by our own nuclear plants, chemical attacks and bombings. She also did mention Bush was killed in one of the chemical attacks. The cities she mentioned that were attacked were Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, New York, and Washington DC.

Whether this is all true or not I don't know. But I do know it scared the hell out of this woman to the point where she was calling me crying for more than a week straight, she definitely believed it. And if you think about it it is not all that far fetched for us to be attacked like that.

Wow. People in the future smoking weed and watching TV. Whoda thunk it?

Posters on Daily Kos are comparing the Pope to Hitler

Someone tries to condemn the comparison:

He compares the Pope to Hitler.
If the poster is going to stoop to this, it should at least contain some rationale.

But someone else quickly comes its support:

The comparison is clear

Absolutely!

"I command you, unclean spirit, whoever you are, along with all your minions now attacking this servant of God, by the mysteries of the incarnation, passion, resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, by the descent of the Holy Spirit, by the coming of our Lord for judgment, that you tell me by some sign your name, and the day and hour of your departure. I command you, moreover, to obey me to the letter, I who am a minister of God despite my unworthiness; nor shall you be emboldened to harm in any way this creature of God, or the bystanders, or any of their possessions."

"Depart, then, transgressor. Depart, seducer, full of lies and cunning, foe of virtue, persecutor of the innocent. Give place, abominable creature, give way, you monster, give way to Christ, in whom you found none of your works. For he has already stripped you of your powers and laid waste your kingdom, bound you prisoner and plundered your weapons. He has cast you forth into the outer darkness, where everlasting ruin awaits you and your abettors. You are guilty before his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, whom you presumed to tempt, whom you dared to nail to the cross. You are guilty before the whole human race, to whom you proffered by your enticements the poisoned cup of death."

It is a good idea, but my experience is that conservative comments on liberal boards are often deleted because they don't agree with the uber-Left credo. Im not sure it would impact any of those lost souls...

"I also see that the Kos / DU ppl are attacking the late pope because of his anti-birth control stance because it led to the spread of STD's."

(1) They should get used to it, because the church's opposition to these things isn't going to change under the next pope.

(2) How, exactly, does "birth control" prevent STDs? Sure, condoms might, but chemical birth control isn't going to do that.

(3) You have to use Andrew Sullivan-quality reasoning to arrive at that sort of conclusion. Is there anyone on earth who has ever said "okay, I'm going to have sweaty man-on-man butt-sex now, but I'm not going to slap on a rubber because I'm a Catholic and the church forbids it?"

(4) Following Catholic teaching is just about the best way not to get an STD.

The DUmmies actually found a psychic to support their thread. He seems to predict some vague things, but I think I might be able to clear it up for the Dems (a service I'm only too happy to provide).

Trouble also, with Canada. There is severe strain on the relationship. America will do something that will be seen by Canadians as a serious infringement of their sovereignty.

That wouldn't be the fact that, if attacked with missiles, we'll likely defend ourselves in spite of Canada's declaration that we can't do so across their airspace. Of wait, I guess it is...

Also something similar with Mexico.

Yeah, we'll infringe on the Mexican "sovereignty" by upholding our own, perhaps?

Most important of all, I feel that eventually, the Neocons will be greatly disgraced, and seen as almost treasonous, when a great secret scandle is finally revealed.

This swammi's got his channellings crossed. Sounds like what's happening to the liberal idiotarians now. ;-)

Yeah, I wasn't exactly on point with that one. I was responding ton the oft-heard complaint that the Catholic church is responsible for the spread of AIDS because it teaches that condom use is wrong.

What the nuts over at DU were saying was "the pope is responsible for the spread of STDs because he opposes birth control." The obvious problem is that chemical birth control doesn't stop STDs, so it's irrelevant. (In fact, chemical birth control disincentivizes condom use, so it's possible that it might *contribute* to the spread of STDs). But there's definitely no causal relationship between chemical birth control and STDs.

What the DUmmies probably meant was that opposition to condoms results in the spread of AIDS. It's a terrible argument because no one who follows the church's teachings faithfully is going to get an STD.

What kind of pyschics are they using, anyway? It's darn near impossible to predict the future unless you're paying some schmo $19.99 per minute to tell you what you want to hear.

"Hello...can you tell me the precise hour, minute, second, location and situation that imperialist Chimpy Bushitler will die, and a socialist-communist dictator with fascist tendencies and no regard for humanity will be installed as leader of the world?"

"Uh, no, kid...and by the way, you're the third person after the Maoist International Movement and International ANSWER to ask me that question. I can tell you, however, your future."

"What is it? Will the world finally receive the social justice I've been championing with meaningless, self-righteous protests just to satisfy my own insecurities and guilt?"

"Definitely - it's called a $450 phone bill, and if you don't pay up, the only thing you'll be protesting day and night for is for bill collectors to leave you alone." *click*

155 daNightman  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 3:28:02pm

I just looked at that prediction of the death of the Pope, and those fellows are simply on the wrong channeller. In every major category, their predictions are either completely wrong or right only because the trend was obvious to everyone.

Among the big zingers:

Kobe Bryant loses his magic and his court case.

Criminal charges were dropped when the accuser decided to sue him for money instead.

The United Nations will be instrumental in ousting Coalition forces out of Iraq and helping to establish a new governing body.

The only instrumental thing the UN's been involved as far as Iraq is concerned continues to be the Oil for Food scandal.

An assassination attempt is carried out on the Premiere of France. It is unsuccessful. The Pope dies in the spring or early summer.

Wrong on both counts, but I suppose the Dummies don't use calendars, or consider having the season about right good enough.

This reminds me of Frank Zappa's "Cosmic Debris," making me ask:

Look Here, brother
Who you jivin'' with that cosmic debris
(What kind of guru are you, anyway?)

Don't you waste your time on me.

What revolts me is they can't even keep a respectful silence on the day of his death.

It's one thing to disagree with the Catholic Church. It's another very different thing to needlessly attack a respected man, who devoted his life to trying to improve the human condition - maybe not by the means they (members of the DU) would have liked but instead in accordance with his beliefs, while his body isn't even cold yet.

Have to get those cheap shots in quick, eh?

And don't forget: Bush is evil!

169 smill1953  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 4:05:17pm

I am in shock. I have just discovered the most sane comment ever posted at DU (yes, I mean "sane" without the "in-" prefix!). I figured I'd post it here before they delete it (I'd be amazed if they didn't).
[Link: www.democraticunderground.com...]

I find it amazing that even here, in the DU, one finds defenders of communist dictatorships. Clearly, none of these defenders ever lived in such a country. Nor did I, though I have a long association with the former Soviet Union, with many close friends there, friends close enough that we could have open (and dangerous) discussions, such as the real meaning of Stalin around a dinner table in a Moscow apartment. People who lived in that rotten excuse for utopia do consider that the USSR was evil, and were amazed when Reagan said so publically. Those without a real connection with people who have lived under communist dictatorship (unmediated by secret police eavesdropping or mouthpieces of the government) just have no clue.

So you find statements like on this site like "In fact, communism, as an idea, itself is not oppressive, rather it was certain governments' ways of enforcing its principles. Communism is no more inherently oppressive than any other social system, including capitalism." Name a communist dictatorship that has not been horribly oppressive. I remember "Democratic Kampuchea" and how so many, like Noam Chomsky, were falling over themselves to sing the praises of the revolution. Is there another example in history where a group of thugs has come to power in a country and in the pursuit of creating what they think will be an earthly utopia proceed to slaughter 1/3 of the population of that country?

Communist dictatorships a brittle because they rely of a vision of humanity based in 19th century pseudoscience (history as predictive science? suitable for Hari Seldon, and not much else), enforced by industrial-scale repression and cults of personality that are scarcely imaginable to those who do not live in them. Ask anyone from North Korea, where people are told that they live in the richest, greatest country on Earth and that Kim Jong Il is the perfect human. Expressing a contrary opinion is a crime punishable by being sent to a labor camp. How would DUers react if tomorrow all new media outlets were forced, on pain of death, to run stories about the "perfection" of George Bush, and that saying anything contrary is a crime punishable by immediate arrest and imprisonment. That is what you have in the DPRK, no hyperbole - plain reality. But these pathologies are so brittle, so that when the facade breaks, and people no longer believe, it is only a matter of time before the fall. For all the faults of western society, there is no such brittleness in the constituion of social structure and government. and plently of open critisim of politicians like Bush. I remember the joke I heard in the 80's about the bed that sleeps three people - it is called "Lenin is with us" (Lenin s'namyi). Any Russian speaker who spent time in the CCCP will recognize the phrase and get the joke. And joking about it meant the beginning of the end of the system.

So this is why didn't western societies collapse, and former communist dictatorships moved in the direction of consensual government and market economies. The deep dark fear of the hard left is that given a chance there is not a single population in the world, especially in those remaining states that claim to be socialist, that would not also junk their dictatorship (communistic, theocratic, kleptocratic thuggery, or any combination thereof) and adopt consensual government and a market economy. And we don't hear about countries that freely are striving to move in the other direction, do we?

[ending posted on next post. it all won't fit on one]

[continued from previous post]

I think that it is a good bet that 50 years from now not a single government that is in opposition to consensual government will be left in the world and that government of the people, by the people, for the people will be everywhere on the Earth. No nirvana, but a way to advance human dignity, as long as you can convince others, without force, to go along with your ideas.

You have to understand, the Left operates as a cult. There's very little introspection or debate, just dogma and submission. So anyone outside of the cult is infidel and those that are considered an automatic part of the cult (women, gays, blacks) but who reject its tenets are apostates.

That's why the vitriol over Jeff Gannon and the shutting down of GayPatriot and the vileness directed at Laura Bush and Condi Rice.

And just like other cultists, the Left doesn't flinch at using the belief systems of infidels against them...like the DUer's claiming to be or know Catholics who find any pronoucement of sympathy by GW towards the Pope's passing as "outrageous" and "pandering" and any number of attacks even though they themselves don't give a rat's* ass for the Pope in the first place

*apologies to Rugby if he's around ;-)

Wow! They're on a sanity roll over at DU!
Here's a response to the DU post (by a poster called "rayofreason" quoted above in #169/170. The guy below is "WildEyedLiberal". I truly am in shock!
[Link: www.democraticunderground.com...]

But FWIW, I think you have written a well-reasoned and valuable post.

DU is deathly afraid to criticize the sacred cows of the far left, which is a pity, because the extreme left is as dangerous as the extreme right, ideologically speaking (not in practice, because they are currently not in power, unlike the extreme right).

Well, I'm not a leftist. I'm a liberal. As a liberal, I abhor any government that operates upon suppression of dissent and rigid control - be it fascist or communist or some other totalitarian tyranny. I believe in liberty, the freedom of a people to determine their life and their government. Repressive "leftist" regimes are as big a threat to freedom and the human condition as repressive rightist regimes are. I find Bush so odious because he seeks to curtail liberty and the freedom to dissent at home while trying to force democracy (or scavenge for oil, depending on your level of cynicism- mine's pretty high where the neocon cabal is concerned) at gunpoint. But brutal communist regimes get NO pass from me.

I never thought I'd see the day when those on DU side AGAINST Lech Walesa and Solidarity. What a sad, sad day.

My God! They predicted that an 84 year old man with Parkinson's and multiple health problems wouldn't live long, and they were correct!

As for these guys' salivating of the possible death of Bush--and I've said this before--only two words need to be said: President Cheney

This kind of claptrap really shows how deep subjectivist roots run with the American left. If you believe that happy thoughts an good intentions will prevent war and end poverty, it's not too much of a stretch to believe Criswell when he says the President's going to die. Meanwhile, "backward" Southern Baptist and Catholics have stoically reconciled themselves with the death of the pope. No coffin swarms or anything.

177 CrusaderGirl  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 4:29:17pm

My husband and I were wondering how long after the Pope's death it would take before LLL started grumbling about the need for appointing "progressive" Popes. You know, some one who is going to allow lesbian priestesses, Catholic abortion clinics, and bestial marriages (in celebration of St. Francis, of course). After all, the Pope stood for the sanctity of human life, dignity for the weak, humility before God, etc. These ideas, as you all know, are not...progressive enough.

Well, thanks to everyone here, I now know how long it takes before the cockroaches come out of their nests and start scurrying around our now darkened world -- nanoseconds.

I just waded through the Daily Kos dross, and it really is getting pathetic:

We have the theologian:

the church is a political institution. the church has great material wealth with which to pursue its political interests, as defined by the church leadership. as the catholic church is hierarchical in the extreme, power will usually reside in the hands of the most power hungry.

We have the angry genius:

Religion and 2000 year old beliefs are fantasy. No more and no less. So ... the use of condoms is prohibited despite the fact it may reduce the incidence of Aids?...oh, oh, and women should stay in their places..and oh, gays are considered "evil" and what say you to Gallileo? oH yeh.yeh..the Catholic Church proved him wrong,,,

We have some "Pope killed millions" hyperbole:

One pope is dead. We can but hope the next one will not use small-minded superstitions to jsutify policies which lead to death, destruction, and diminished quality of life for millions and millions of people.

We have the pinko Godless commie perspective:

Concentration of wealth. Authoritarian power structure. Claim of infallible holy righteousness.

In any time, most of what the Church actually is should be anathema to those who passionately believe in helping the poor, encouraging all to think for themselves, and a stress on humility before the beauty and diversity of human and other life on this Earth.

We also have the Paranoid Schizophrenic:

After the catholic sect has proven their sickness over 1500 years, there are still idiots enough to belive that one single death of them can wash away their sins. We will not forget the blood of our brothers that easy.

With the lunacy going on there, I was surprised to read a few genuinely kind words about the Pope. They were a few gems among the sludge.

Indy media is going to have a field day.

...as opposed to those who spend less time believing in it and lots more actually getting it done.

Much like the ignorant Americans who were stupidly unloading food and water in Indonesia after the tsunami while the better minds of the EU and UN were busy scheduling meetings to ponder how rescue efforts might be undertaken.

The selective use of "hate" and other PC terms is a common MSM tactic. I have created a new list of categories of MSM bias. MSM's (and this includes Google) use of PC or turning a blind eye to leftist PC falls into category #11.

192 It's Miss Donna V. to you  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 5:56:56pm

smill 1953: Well, that run of sanity at DU doesn't last too long. Look at the rejoiner this ding-a-ling wrote to counter the posts you noticed:

you think you are free? You want to be independent? Try having a cow in your backyard for milk. You can't do it unless you live in the country. Your neighbors would be exercising their little fascist tendencies and reporting you to the local government pronto.

My guess is that even if having Bossy in the backyard was as common as having a DVD player in the living room, that bonehead would not be happy. He'd be complaining:

you think you are free? You want to be indepedent? Try having sex on the sidewalk in front of your house at 12 noon. You can't do it! Your neighbors would be exercising their little fascist tendencies and reporting you to the local government pronto.

(That may not hold true, of course, in SF or in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras.)

(I always pray for Senator Kerry and Senator Edwards that they have a successful impeachment of Hitler) What other thoughts do all of you have? Waiting for the IMPEACHMENT WHILE THE SCANDALS KEEP UNFOLDING

Clearly the DU poster is hoping that Bush is impeached, not killed. The "prophecy" is that Bush will no longer be President in the fall, not that he will die.

It hardly qualifies as "wishing for the death of the President". There's plenty of stuff on DU that's offensive enough without having to make stuff up.

203 Ed Mahmoud abu al Qahool Martyr Brigades  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 7:12:49pm

Duke- true enough because even the DUmmies are smart enough to realize that if they think Bush is bad, they really won't be able to stand Cheney.

Cheney has made it clear he doesn't want to run in 2008. No mystery there, at his age you can't blame him for not wanting to spend 8 years more in office. If some DU type loon actually could get to the President though, Cheney might run for a complete term, maybe choose Condi as his VP, and then defer running in 2012.

That would be a DU nightmare scenario.

Myself, I hope Bush comes back to Texas in 2009, maybe enjoys a year or two off, makes a little money on the speech circuit, and then, since he is still fairly young, maybe run for the Senate or Governor again.

204 Baldy  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 7:13:33pm

I was going to mention earlier that I was impressed with the overall level of respect, on a different DU thread. There was an inordinate discussion that it was sad he died because he was against the Iraq war. Must everything be about hating Bush and/or America? I'm afraid so, with these "progressives."

They never believe in evil, unless it's something the US or Israel has done. I'm glad I voted for President Bush. I'm prouder everyday.

Rest in Peace, Pope John Paul II.

205 RepJ  Sat, Apr 2, 2005 7:45:43pm

I'm sure that one of the psychics they are referring to is Sylvia Browne. Unfortunately, she also predicted that Bill Bradley would win the 2000 presidential election. And it's probably not too difficult to predict that the Pope was not long for this earth. Many psychics predicted that Kerry would win the election, and they were all wrong. I can think of one right off hand that got it right. A 50/50 question and probably 90% of them got 2004 wrong. ::shaking head sadly::

Don't these morons know that if it were 18 dead, the liberal MSM would jump all over the fact that there were 18 deaths in ChimpyMcHitlerBush's illegal war for oil and genocide against the peaceful Muslim religion?

sngnsgt #207 - Ah, but they don't think the MSM is liberal, or anti-Bush, which the MSM uses as proof they aren't lefties. Since the MSM has complaints from both sides, they say that proves they are unbiased, even though the complainers on the left are so far out there, they are glad when Americans are killed or injured in Iraq. It's all insanity.

Nope.

I read through that entire thread on DU (the one Charles linked to) and couldn't find a single poster wishing for Bush's assassination, or expressing pleasure at the thought of it. not my spelling mistakes! I haven't checked the link, yet.

Friday 05 November 2004

"The exposure of electoral fraud will be too late to alter World events ... Bush will enter phase of extream personal crisis in Summer of 2005. Health problems, threats to his person, and extream danger. It is unclear if he survives or not. at present, it is 50/50. In any event, it is absolutely clear he will not survive in Office ... Most important of all, I feel that eventually, the Neocons will be greatly disgraced, and seen as almost treasonous, when a great secret scandle is finally revealed."

That was immediately followed by several posters saying "I so hope this happens!" and "Please let this be true!" One surmises that the infamous bulge in the back of GWB's jacket during the debates was a "health device" of some sort (which surprises me, I thought Karl Rove was giving him instructions through that thing) and that Bush is not really in good health.

Now, strictly speaking, I suppose you're right. The post I cut and pasted contained a quote from a linked article. Also, it's not exactly clear what the posters are hoping for. Dubya's ill-health, and "extreme danger" or a "great secret scandle" that will disgrace the neocons? One or the other? Or both? That's unclear partly because they are such crappy writers and so poor at expressing themselves and also probably due to the fact that the government can read their minds (and is deeply interested in the rantings of DU posters), so they have to be careful about what they say.

Neocon "Scandles" or a sudden heart attack - one or both would put the DU pack in ecstasy.
