-RetweetTop Islamic Cleric: "We Must Rage"

Wed, Feb 8, 2006 at 12:09:25 pm PST

Courtesy of MEMRI TV, here’s a film clip from Qatar TV, aired on February 3, 2006, of Sheik Yousef Al-Qaradhawi (often described as a “moderate” cleric) ranting, shrieking, threatening, and citing Holocaust denier Roger Garaudy:

Click picture to play video. Requires Windows Media Player; Mac users should install Flip4Mac.

Sheik Yousef Al-Qaradhawi: The nation must rage in anger. It is told that Imam Al-Shafi’ said: “Whoever was angered and did not rage is a jackass.” We are not a nation of jackasses. We are not jackasses for riding, but lions that roar. We are lions that zealously protect their dens, and avenge affronts to their sanctities. We are not a nation of jackasses. We are a nation that should rage for the sake of Allah, His Prophet, and His book. We are the nation of Muhammad, and we must never accept the degradation of our religion.

[...]

We must rage, and show our rage to the world.

[...]

The governments must be pressured to demand that the UN adopt a clear resolution or law that categorically prohibits affronts to prophets – to the prophets of the Lord and His messengers, to His holy books, and the religious holy places. This is so that nobody could cause them harm. They enacted such laws in order to protect the Jews and Judaism. Like some Danes have said: “We can mock Jesus and his mother.” They were asked: “Can you mock the Jews?” Here they stopped. The Jews are protected by laws - the laws that protect Semitism, and nobody can say even one word about the number [of victims] in the alleged Holocaust. Nobody can do so, even if he is writing an M.A. or Ph.D. thesis, and discussing it scientifically. Such claims are not acceptable. When Roger Garaudy talked about it, he was sentenced to jail, according to the laws. We want laws protecting the holy places, the prophets, and Allah’s messengers.

[...]

Before ending my sermon, I would like to issue several warnings. The first warning is directed at our feeble governments, which are trying to gauge America’s position: Will America be pleased with us or not if we rage about this? They fear the Creator more than they fear His creation [sic], and try to please people more than they try to please Allah. To those feeble governments we say: Take a courageous stand. Stand up and prove that you are Muslim, and that you protect this religion with zeal. We want our governments not to split from their peoples. The masses throughout the Islamic world have made their position clear, They have displayed their rage. The governments must not split away from these masses. The second warning I direct at the Westerners, the Americans, and the Europeans who follow them, who claim to be fighting terrorism, and struggling against violence throughout the world.

I say to them: Your silence over such crimes, which offend the Prophet of Islam and insult his great nation, is what begets violence, generates terrorism, and makes the terrorists say: Our governments are doing nothing, and we must avenge our Prophet ourselves. This is what creates terrorism and begets violence.

Okay, this has probably been said many times, but I don't think this has anything to do with a few cartoons in a low circulation paper from last fall.

It has to do with hate. My take is that it is just an excuse to riot. To attack anything Western.

A way for extremists to create more tension in the Mideast against the Western democracies.

"We say to those Europeans: We can get by without you, but you cannot get by without us. We can get by without your products. We will buy from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, from the Asian countries. We will say what King Faysal - may he rest in peace - said in 1973, in the days of the petroleum war. He said to them: We can get by without the petrol, and return to our days of yore. We will make do with milk and dates. We will drink the milk of our camels, and eat the dates from our palm trees. King Faysal said this when there was a threat to Arab honor. It is all the more true when there is a threat to our Islamic honor, to our prophets, and our religion."

They are delusional. Without the Europeans they would quickly starve to death.

Question:

If someone was to put up a statue of Mohammed, would Muslims tear it down and destroy it, or would the tearing down and destroying also be an afront to the Prophet?

OK, let's try it. We'll have the UN pass a resolution, the same as all the ones they passed on Saddam, saying we shouldn't affront prophets of the Lord. Then the next day all violence, in Israel, Kashmir, Thailand, Australia, Iraq, Afghanistan etc... will stop immediately. Seems fair.
Of course if it didn't then we'd know he was a worthless lying sack of shit, and we could take more robust measures.

We understand rage. We respect that you wish to protect your religion. We only wish that you understood your followers' definitions of rage. You tell them to rage without giving them parameters.

You discourage free thought; therefore you must specifically show and tell them how you want them to express their collective rage.

Unless, of course, you know that when you tell them to rage, they only know one way to do it.

Oh, I get it.

Sorry.

This dude is a false prophet, false imam, or false sheik -- perhaps all three. There is no injunction or probition in the Koran, or as a matter of Islamic principle, against publishing images of Mohammad or any other Muslim prophet for that matter. Those claims are "false" and utterly without historical support. See "Bonfire of the Pieties," The Wall Street Journal, 2/8/06, at p. A16.

From the Telegraph
Mr Irving, 67, says he has never claimed that the Holocaust did not happen.

But he has questioned the number of Jews who died and denied that they were systematically murdered. Mr Irving contends that most Jews who died at Auschwitz did so from diseases such as typhus, not gas poisoning.

He has based his views largely on a 1988 report by an American, Fred Leuchter, who analysed bricks and concrete from Auschwitz and concluded that gas chambers had not existed. Denying the Holocaust is a criminal offence in Austria and carries a maximum sentence of 10 years. Should Mr Irving be convicted and the court consider him to be a "particular danger", he could face 20 years in jail.

I've bookmarked the State Department's International Religious Freedom Report. It's very interesting to go through how many executions, imprisonments, etc. that our Islamic 'allies' have committed because someone preaches Christianity. It really steams me that we continue to call this a 'Religion of Peace', when allowance of another's religious beliefs are summarily refused.

It's really good reading. Qatar is one of the more 'moderate' countries.

I have heard that some fat cats, politicians or so-called politicians, intellectuals or so-called intellectuals, and other individuals that do not deserve the classification of being a citizen, have been acting substantially in the same manner as those in Gaza. They say: “Good, the Americans deserve it!”. And I am very, very, very angry. With a cold furious anger, lucid and rational. An anger that eliminates every obstacle, every indulgence. That compels me to respond to them and above all to spit on them. I spit on them. As angry as I, the American poet Maya Angelou yesterday roared: “Be angry. It’s good to be angry, it’s healthy.” I don’t know if it is healthy for me to be angry, but I know it is not going to be healthy for them, the admirers of Osama Bin Laden, and for those who express understanding or sympathy or solidarity for him. You have lit a fuse which for too long has been harboring the desire to explode. You will see. You also ask me to tell how I have lived this Apocalypse. To give my story. I will therefore start with that.

72 ladycatnip  Wed, Feb 8, 2006 10:43:16am

Charles,

Would you post all the vile anti-Semetic and anti-Christian cartoons the muslims print each day in their papers? Perhaps if the world sees the bigotry and hatred islam loves to express, then maybe, just maybe, people will begin to wake up to the double standard here.

Nevermind. If the world hasn't seen it already in the riots, beheadings, kidnappings, etc., their sick cartoons certainly wouldn't make a difference.

This is a religion of rage, death and psycho morons. It takes nothing to ignite their fuse.

Nope, a jackass would never blow himself up. So don't insult jackasses like that.

We are a nation that should rage for the sake of Allah, His Prophet, and His book.

Hello! You folks have been raging for centuries. Hows it working out for ya? You know, other than the abject poverty, miserable standards of living, and lack of any human rights or liberty.

We are the nation of Muhammad, and we must never accept the degradation of our religion.

Jackass nation raging

Jackass of the year (JOY) award for best Islamic rager

Just brainstorming. Anyone have anything to add?

This is what creates terrorism and begets violence.

...I'm no expert in Islam or the Koran (I can read above the 3rd grade level and have indoor plumbing, after all).

Isn't saying stuff like "avenging the Prophet" akin to idolatry? Shouldn't the focus of an Islamic cleric to honor and bring all focus to Allah?

I'm not sure how these things work? As a Christian, I don't pray to John the Baptist or seek to bring my daily life into accordance with him...I'm a little more focused on God than His prophets.

Iran to hang teenage girl attacked by rapists
Sat. 07 Jan 2006
Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, Jan. 07 – An Iranian court has sentenced a teenage rape victim to death by hanging after she weepingly confessed that she had unintentionally killed a man who had tried to rape both her and her niece.

The state-run daily Etemaad reported on Saturday that 18-year-old Nazanin confessed to stabbing one of three men who had attacked the pair along with their boyfriends while they were spending some time in a park west of the Iranian capital in March 2005.

Nazanin, who was 17 years old at the time of the incident, said that after the three men started to throw stones at them, the two girls’ boyfriends quickly escaped on their motorbikes leaving the pair helpless.

She described how the three men pushed her and her 16-year-old niece Somayeh onto the ground and tried to rape them, and said that she took out a knife from her pocket and stabbed one of the men in the hand.

As the girls tried to escape, the men once again attacked them, and at this point, Nazanin said, she stabbed one of the men in the chest. The teenage girl, however, broke down in tears in court as she explained that she had no intention of killing the man but was merely defending herself and her younger niece from rape, the report said.

The court, however, issued on Tuesday a sentence for Nazanin to be hanged to death.

The only way to answer this islamomadness is to fight fire with fire. No amount of dhimmihood will appease these madmen. So we should get serious and recognise them for what they are - the biggest threat to humanity since hitler. So incitement and hate speech should be responded to with a bullet through the head. Preaching jihad at mosques should result in the closure, demolition and siezure of assets of the mosque, toghether with immediate deportation of all members of that mosque to their countries of origin.

I know, what if the countries won't let them back? Tough. Create island prisons where they can be dumped and drop them food by helicopter. Leave them till they are accepted by another state. The west must get very tough very fast.

No more apologies to mad fascists. No more tolerance of intolerance. No more meetings with islamic leaders in western countries. Islam has shown its face and has the choice of joining the human race or being excluded from western countries altogether. If we are not prepared to do this to islam, we'll lose.

Losing is acceptable as long as we are prepared to endure Taliban type government in London, Paris and Washington. The choice is here and now. My worry is that western leadership and western voters just don't have the stomach to win the fight.

It's prohibited for a Muslim to look at a representation of Muhamed, because of the danger that Muhamed could then become venerated and even deified. So why is daffy Qaradawi demanding rage from Muslims for the sake of Allah, just because an obscure newspaper in Denmark, not read by many Muslims, published caricatures of Muhamed? If Allah is offended by this, couldn't Allah create his own punishment? And surely there is no possibility of worship of Muhamed if he caricatures were unflattering, is there?

It seems that daffy Qaradawi wants to stir up rage because of his own radical agenda.

In civilized society you PERSUADE people that what you perceive as a true "offence" against you SHOULD BE unacceptable to others.

Unfortunately, the Muslim community, so entrenched with an ideology that ruthlessly demands submission (up to the level of accepting the murder of adherents who merely "shame" Muslims of higher status) cannot conceive of the notion of respect for other human beings much less be bothered to persuade anyone.

The problem for Muslims (and, ultimately the rest of the world) is this fundamental flaw in the ideology. So long as its acceptable under Islam to witlessly slaughter human beings because of something so feeble as the infantile perception of "humiliation" it is inconceivable that this ideology can progress to a morally acceptable, civilized, condition.

We must rage, and show our rage to the world.

As opposed to the French riots, and the cartoons, and 9/11, etc.

We are a nation that should rage for the sake of Allah.

-- radical Islamist rabid rager Yussef Qaradawi.

His is a RoR.

It doesn't take much for Qaradawi and his followers to rage. The Muslim world publishes extremely vile cartoons. But when an obscure newspaper in Europe publishes some cartoons -- hardly as negative as the ones created by Danish imams who tried to pawn them off with lies about their origin-- then the orchestrated raging goes into fortissimo mode.

Well, you know I've been here many times, and only certain hours of the day when I'm here am I asleep; the rest of the time I'm actually awake. -- I have a filler on a dat with zappa being interrogated by a couple of swedish fans/state officers(who knows)...in which they are arguing over the pornographic contents of his work. he tells them he has been spying on them, and claims that their porno industry is bigger than that of the US. it's pretty funny. btw-this is from thew '88 tour.
