DP World Chairman Not Overly Concerned with Terrorism

Thu, Feb 23, 2006 at 8:09:28 am PST

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the chairman of DP World and one of the UAE’s leading businessmen, ranks the threats that concern him, on a scale of 1 to 10, in an interview at the 2003 World Economic Forum.

Notice where “terrorism” and “proliferation of weapons of mass destruction” come in: Interview with Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, Ports Customs and Free Zones Corporation. (Hat tip: The Cunning Realist.)

US dollar decline – 1
Oil shocks – 2
Stagflation – 3
Over regulation – 4
Pandemics – 5
Terrorism – 6
Proliferation of weapons of mass destruction - 7
China – 8
Climate change – 9
Natural catastrophes – 10

And note that just last year, a highly connected UAE “think tank” founder went on Saudi television to praise the mothers of suicide bombers.
